About Us:

Have you ever heard "Your insurance is only as good as your agent."?  Well, how good is your agent?  How does one determine a good agent from all the others?  I think this is true of realtors as well.  How do you know you have a good real estate agent?

I have been in the insurance business since about three months before I graduated from college.  With my long-time friend, we started an agency that handled employee benefits in north Louisiana in 1992.  That company has become the premiere financial planning company in the area.  I move to Houston with Allstate as a Market Consultant in 1995.  Allstate needed someone that understood the claims, underwriting, and sales processes to breakdown the barriers that had been created by these individual functions.  That success led to a transfer to Dallas to teach new consultants how to breakdown barriers all across Texas.  When I was asked to go to Chicago to teach the entire country, I began looking at companies with a home office in Texas.  USAA made a great offer, so I moved my family to San Antonio.  I learned a great deal about the power of a loyal client, but following the disillusioned orders of others was not for me. I decided to do what I enjoyed the most; owning an agency.  I could pick any company, so I chose Allstate.  I could pick any town, so I chose San Antonio.  Best business decision ever.

So who is a good agent? I believe the same is true for both realtor and insurance agents.  They must know the market (I spent two years doing competitive analysis).  They must know the product (spent six years in product management, underwriting, pricing, and project management).  They must know the how to determine the clients true needs [verbal / non verbal] (spent two years in customer focus group analysis).  They must be willing to do the things that other agents are not willing to do (start by listen to the client).  They must have a sense of urgency (you should never hear, How come this has not been done!).  I only have one client; the one I am talking to at the time.  A good agent knows how to put the client's needs before his own needs.  The client's protection is more important than the paycheck. And #1, you must deliver on your promise!
