About John Allaire

My real estate and engineering background work well together, providing an ideal fit for buyers and sellers.  My goal is to educate my clients throughout the process, providing input based on my knowledge and experience, and putting them in touch with professionals who specialize in key areas, depending on the nature of the property, and transaction. Because each geographical area has its own personality, buyers and sellers need to understand and be well educated to avoid issues and surprises that are easily avoided.  For instance, in my local market area, many homes are on septic systems and wells,  private culinary and irrigation systems. These areas deserve special attention during due diligence.  Also, because this is a mountain community, many homes have above average radon readings, so I every home inspection should include a radon test. Homes in some inner city areas should be tested for methamphetamine. Roof design and maintenance is another important factor for clients moving to a mountain community like the Upper Ogden Valley.  Unfortunately, many buyers are not aware until they are well into the winter months.  Some areas of the Ogden Valley receive over 150" of snow every winter, so it is critical new homeowners know how important it is to keep eaves and gutters clear and free of ice by using heat tape and roof rakes to avoid ice dams.  The list goes on. The key to making a real estate purchase as foolproof as possible is by taking advantage of local knowledge and expertise.

I am detail oriented and constantly keeping tabs on market conditions in our area.  Unchecked, real estate transactions tend to be driven by emotion more than facts.  As your agent, my responsibility to every client is to educate and filter out "noise", allowing informed decisions to be made.  I want all of my clients to feel good about real estate decisions in the years following a home, cabin or lot purchase.
