About Us:
I've lived in the Sumter area since 1991, when my husband and I were transferred from Germany to Shaw Air Force Base. I retired after 20 years of service in 1998 and we stayed in Sumter because we love it here.
I'm a member of our local community concert band; I play in the percussion section (although I started out in the flute section). I'm taking dance lessons (no, really!) and have performed in several recitals. In my case, it's kind of like the dancing bear -- it's not that it's done well, it's that it's done at all! Our class is made of (mostly) women of a certain age, and we have a blast. I've also been taking Zumba classes for several years, and while I haven't actually lost any weight I now know how to salsa. I've been taking karate since early 2001, and while I'm not a black belt I know enough to give myself room to run in.
I was a Realtor® for nearly five years, and then got a full-time job working at the Sumter Board of Realtors® as the MLS Coordinator for a year and a half. My license is inactive. I'm now working in the office of executive Realty Center.
If you're coming to the Sumter area, I'd be glad to tell you what it has to offer. Sumter is growing but has not lost its small-town charm.
