A former 36 yr resident from Florida, many folks dont think that there are any original Florida Crackers left. I lived in the heart of central Florida and in the same town for those 36 yrs. Polk county Florida and a city called Auburndale was were we called home. My family of 5 decided we were going to make a move to the Upper Cumberland area and we finally settled just outside of Cookeville.
I have been married for 16 yrs and I have 3 incredible children..2 boys and 1 girl...Chrissy was my high school sweetheart and my lifetime sweetheart !!!! No matter what I've been through, she hasnt let anything sway her...She is petite with a voice of a 13 yr old, but has the strength and influence of Queen Esther....
The longer we have been here, the more I have missed my family in Florida and have had to make some adjustments with that. We have always been in a big family and never more than about 2 miles apart from one another. I owned and operated an Outdoor Power Equipment dealer ship with my dad for the previous 8 years so it has been different not seeing him everyday. And even when you dont always see things eye to eye or if your working habits are differnt than your dad's, you take for granted what you have. Like it has ALWAYS been said..you never know what you have until it's gone or until you let go...HOW TRUE !!
I have an identical twin brother and we were born 4 minutes apart. I call him my Bon Jovi brother because he has always sported the 80's hair band image..he is really COOL !!! he has always played drums and I miss playing with him in church..NO ONE...I mean NO ONE plays like him !!!
Prior to that I worked for Publix Supermarket for 12 yrs and I worked in the Bakery dept. and managing that Dept for most of that time. I will be VERY EXCITED when Publix finally reaches Cookeville TN!!!! They are by far the absolute best grocery chain in the market !!!!!

Now I know retail grocery and small engine service and repair is a long way from selling real estate but serving the customer is not. With 12 years in retail and 8 yrs in private co-ownership of a family business, the fact remains, without customers or clients you will not succeed. Now, while I dont have the magic formula or a 10 step book on all the how to's, I only know that I try to give the same serivce that I would like to be given.
While managing a 10-16 member bakery team, producing thousands of loaves of bread a week to keeping a weekly work schedule and budget a profit and loss statement, selling outdoor power equipment, chainsaws's, landscaping equipment, or repairing lawn equipment, people were still always the heart of what you did. Yes I know that ultimatley the bottom dollar and a paycheck are probably what most people consider to be the most important factor. Especially when you own or operate a business, the truth is, you or the business would not be there if you were not making money. But....without the employees helping you provide a service and without the customer\client, lets face it, who and what are we working for. So let's not forget it should always be about WHO you serve, and when you put others first, then you can concentrate on providing your absoute BEST with your product of service.
