Areas of Expertise

Karen Briscoe, principal of the Huckaby Briscoe Group has earned the prestigious Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) designation which is awarded by the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing. The purpose of the Institute is twofold. The Institute provides training, information and cutting edge tips for today’s market specifically geared for the upper bracket home market. Further the Institute creates connectivity amongst others in the industry across the United States and abroad, further expanding the marketing capabilities of its members.

The Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS) designation assures affluent buyers and sellers that the agents who have earned it have the knowledge, expertise, competence, and confidence they require. It is recognized as the mark of accomplishment in luxury markets around the world. In order to achieve the designation, agents are required to have settled on a minimum number of transactions in the upper 10% of their metro market area within the past 12 months. This assures that members are currently active in the luxury home marketplace. Karen Briscoe has further earned the Million Dollar Guild recognition, awarded to those agents that have settled on a certain number of transactions in the $1 million plus market.

This is just one other way that the Huckaby Briscoe Group is serving their clients in the Northern Virginia marketplace.

Testimonials

I have said it many times before but I do not mind repeating it. I am so grateful to you for your effort, your professionalism and for getting the house sold. Yes, I did listen, I saw something special in you and I had a bit of strategy but ultimately it was you that made it happen for us. It is a rare thing for me to have total confidence in someone. I do in you. The past month of worry and packing is a blur. I see that there are so many homes left unsold in McLean and I know how lucky we are to be in the position we are in right now, the new house promises to be a wonderful new beginning for everyone. Anyway, timing is everything as I am sure you can agree- right place, right time and good advise helps. Thanks for thinking of me. I will enjoy staying in touch and will always think of you as a positive force in the path of my family's life.

We would like to give you our thanks Karen for the professional way you handled our home sale in McLean. Market conditions certainly didn’t help matters, but your upbeat attitude let us know that “the right buyer” was out there if we would be positive and patient. We miss our home which we remodeled with love, but are so thrilled that, thanks to you, a new family is enjoying it. Thank you for all of your guidance and for counseling us during our sales process. We can’t imagine a more capable realtor, and we give you our highest recommendation and praise. We know that your future is bright and that many more families will benefit from your wise counsel and integrity. We’re so happy that after all of these years of knowing each other we had a chance to be part of a positive home sale together.

It had taken me over 6 years to make the decision to “let go” of the McLean home which held such fabulous memories for me and my late husband, the Hon. James D. “Mike” McKewitt (former MC).

A neighbor (recently widowed) sold her home and gave rave reviews to the Huckaby Briscoe Group. I mustered up my courage to phone the group in order to talk about listing my home and the next afternoon, enter Karen Briscoe where we spent 2 hours together in frank, upfront discussions from price range, commissions, what to expect – and WHO was going to take my late night phones calls when I became nervous! In short, we meshed, understood what was to be generally expected between listing agents, prospective purchasers and me, the seller. Needless to say, I did not phone any other Real Estate firms as it was not necessary and my instincts were absolutely correct regarding Karen.

It was approximately 6 days after listing my home for sale that I received a phone call from Karen late on a Friday night happily informing me we had a contract. We enjoyed breakfast early the next morning, had an opportunity to get to know one another better while ratifying the contract over many cups of coffee. Karen’s innate sensitivity of the situation with me was a major plus in her column. A home sale is not just a business venture, it involves so much more and she had the sensibility of understanding this with me.
