A bit about me...
"I wasn't born in Hawaii, but I got here as fast as I could!" A native of Los Gatos, CA, Katie knows first hand about the courage it takes to uproot and adventure into the unknown. An avid world traveler Katie thrives on the thrill of discovery, the humility of expanding her "typical American" viewpoint and the joy of returning home to the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. With her B.A. from UCLA, Ms. Minkus sold hardware in the computer industry and "survived" the 1990's dot-com boom and bust in the Silicon Valley. She also holds a Master's Degree in Psychology from Santa Clara University, something Katie says serves her well as Broker-in-Charge of Hawaii Life Real Estate Services, LLC. Katie exercises her belief in the concept of malama ke 'aina by volunteering for several community organizations focused on creating affordable housing, preserving open space, and maintaining shoreline access for everyone. Katie also sits as a Director on the Kona Board of Realtors. In her highly-valued "spare" time, Katie enjoys yoga, camping, collecting wine, discovering "secret" Big Island beaches, 4 wheel driving, hiking, and can often be found communing with the honu in Puako.

A bit about my work...
As Broker-in-Charge of Hawaii Life Real Estate Services LLC, I am primarily responsible for leadership of the company on the Big Island in terms of recruitment, networking, and Luxury Property consulting. Hawaii Life has a strong financial commitment to technology and an incredible internet presence and for me, this is an opportunity to marry my love of real estate with my enthusiasm for technology, especially the internet!
It is my belief that Hawaii Life Real Estate services has the best consumer traffic and most consistently highly-ranked real estate website in the state of Hawaii and because of this, I'm proud to be able to offer my listing clients (Sellers) more prominent and frequently-seen exposure for their property than any other Broker or real estate website in Hawaii - including Hawaii Information Systems (but without the distracting ads). Because our commitment to technology starts at the top - I can also offer my buyers the very latest and greatest in terms of transactional services on par with the best mainland Brokerage houses, making my clients' experience of buying property in Hawaii smooth and hassle-free.
As a resident of Puako Beach, what I enjoy most is working at home... I did, after all, move to Hawaii to be closer to the beach. :) I have a Master's Degree and a Bachelor's degree, but more importantly, I am open-minded and committed to continually exploring better, faster, more efficient and more pleasurable ways to conduct the business of Real Estate. For me, it's not so much about the areas in which I can claim "expertise" but rather to answer the question: am I leading my business, serving my clients and enjoying my life?
This is an exciting - and historical - time to be involved in the real estate industry and the move to Hawaii Life simply solidifies my commitment to my clients, and to the business as a whole. During tough times, the tough "get going" and this is exactly my strategy. No longer can we afford to sit around and conduct "business as usual." A very smart woman told me once that the definition of insanity is "doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." I am committed to changing in the ways I believe are necessary going forward in this industry with hope, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude for success.
