Testimonials

Dear Ken,

The last time we bought a house, the commission went to someone who was completely unknown to us.  Sure he seemed helpful, but after the fact we discovered that he wasn't completely open and honest.  I'm just glad that we were able to go through someone that was first a friend, then an agent.  You seem to know a lot of people.  Hopefully this kind of thing will repeat itself with some regularity.

 Thank You,

Dan and Terry Cardin

Dear Ken,

We are so happy to have a real home in Simi Valley. It's delightful to see the sunrise from our own window, to have projects and an opportunity to imagine ideas for this lovely place.

Dave and I want to express our thanks to you for your amazing efforts in our behalf during our long search for a California home. You have been the ultimate problem solver throughout this often-trying process.

After giving up on two other realtors, in May, we met you. We were impressed with your creativity as you helped us find a home we could live in, repair, and remodel at the same time. You showed us many places in many areas, always looking for the adaptable place to buy, rather than what you might want to sell. Your good cheer encouraged us when we got outbid for eight different places. You shared your professional knowledge about areas, never labeling a neighborhood as "bad" or "good", but helping us to know the neighborhoods in the San Fernando Valley, Simi Valley, and Thousand Oaks.

Most important, you listened to what we wanted, and were vigilant in looking for the gem that would offer good adaptability to our lives. We met your wife, Donne, and she agreed that you are a skillful listener-you processed what she described and built furniture to match her vision. In the same way, you listened to our concerns, sifted through the myriad of homes for sale and found the ones with possibilities. You knew we didn't have a lot to spend, still you stuck with us, matching us to a place we love at a price we could afford. We appreciated your introducing us to Donne. She worked and worked for us, finding financing and keeping us on track with what we could afford. Often, she gave us financial information on what our monthly payments would be for different housing prices. And you found us homes at those prices. That's a rare and welcome trait among realtors. When, at the final moment, the lending company changed its rules to deny us a loan, you and Donne helped us find the creative way to buy the house. Even when she could not earn money on the sale, she helped us work with the Ohio people to obtain the financing we needed.

Other realtors told us not to attempt to purchase a short sale, but you encouraged us to try it. We lost this property when it seemed exactly the right one, and you encouraged us not to give up. You kept us next in line when the other buyer's escrow fell through. You helped us think outside the box to solve the problem. You worked with the other realtor to get him "on our side". Against all odds, when other realtors would have walked away, you got us our home. We are impressed.

Many many thanks for these and all the extra things you've done to help us settle in and live here comfortably. We feel we've found friends for life in you. We have and will always recommend you to our friends, acquaintances, and contacts.

Sincerely,

Victoria & Dave Althoff
