About Us:

As a rare Northern Virginia native I have area knowledge that sets me apart from other agents. Coupled with my desire to be a REALTOR® since high school this allows me to provide superior customer service to all of my clients. I'm a graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools and attended Terra Centre Elementary School, Washington Irving Intermediate, and Robinson Secondary School. After high school I attended Virginia Tech and earned a B.S. in Finance from the Pamplin College of Business. After graduating from Virginia Tech I was a "Big Five" Management Consultant. This business background laid the foundation for running my own business, developing my marketing plan and strong work ethic which has helped me to successfully serve my clients needs. I have dreamed of being a REALTOR since High School and am thrilled to be living my dream. I believe that true passion breeds success and this has lead me to offer superior customer service and strive to have cutting edge industry knowledge.

I recently earned my CDPE designation, which is Certified Distressed Property Expert, and I am now qualified to help people in distress that need to short sale their homes.  With the state of the economy and job loss there are many people who can no longer afford to pay their mortgage and aren't sure what to do.  As a Certified Distressed Property Expert and Realtor, I can give the expertise necessary to save their credit, relieve the uncertainty and most of all, help their family.  The real estate market in Northern Virginia will not fully rebound until we are able to get these short sale properties out of the local inventory.  I have had success in listing and selling short sale properties in Northern Virginia.  If you have a client or would like to refer a short sale to me I am ready to help them during this difficult time.

I also specialize in First Time Homebuyers and run First Time Home Buyer Seminars in Northern Virginia.

My husband Matthew and I would like to take this opportunity to thank both RE/MAX Allegiance and your realtor, Ms. Kimberly Darwaza, for your help with purchasing our first home.  As first time homebuyers, we had limited knowledge of how the purchase process worked and how to even begin searching for a home to purchase.

Prior to contacting Ms. Darwaza, my husband and I had several reservations about working with a realtor.  Our biggest fear was that we would be pushed into purchasing a home that didn't necessarily fit our needs or budget.  We also worried that a realtor might not be patient with the many questions a first time home buyer often has.

Immediately upon contacting Ms. Darwaza, our fears about being pushed into a home were removed.  Kim explained the entire home buying process in painstaking detail for two people who were complete novices at the process.  Her extensive first time home buyers kit was a wealth of knowledge for us.  When Matthew and I did have questions, Kim was readily available and extremely patient with our many questions.

I want to take the opportunity to thank you for your great service, excellent marketing, and solid results in helping us sell our townhouse in a very challenging market.
 
We really appreciate all the hard work & insight you brought to the relationship.  You did a great job providing data for pricing and letting us know about your marketing efforts.  We also really liked the fact that you constantly kept us informed about showings & feedback as well as activity in the rest of the market.  Your service was fantastic and clearly led to a very smooth negotiation and closing.  Just this morning I spoke to a friend of mine who'd listed her place in Reston.  She just got a contract and commented on how many little things they'd had to go through - getting pressure from their agent to accept lowball offers, having to go get HOA docs themselves at the 11th hour - all things that we didn't have to experience with you.  I firmly believe that without your persistence and follow up on every showing, that we wouldn't have closed yet. 
 
In a difficult market you provided excellent service and put in the extra effort to close the deal with a buyer that I'm sure most agents wouldn't have been able to close.

Kim,

I just wanted to let you know that I think you're doing a great job for us, and it's much appreciated. I like working with you for several reasons: you're intelligent, you know your business, you take your business seriously, you have a great work ethic, you're patient and understanding, and you allow us the freedom and time to make our own choices knowing that it's a huge financial and emotional investment. I have a deep respect for you and have very much enjoyed working with you. This isn't a goodbye letter, rather it's a thank you letter for everything you've done thus far for us. I think we're getting close to wrapping this up and actually buying a house, so we won't have a whole lot of business dealings after that, but I do want you to know that at any time I am asked if I know of a good real estate agent, trust that I will send them your way.

We are often quick at telling someone what they did wrong, but don't often let people know when they do something right. I think it's important to let people know when they are doing a good job, and I would put you in an "outstanding" category. I cannot thank you enough for all you've done for us so far. I seriously doubt there is any other real estate agent out there that is capable of providing your level of service, so I thank you once again.
