Home Mortgage Advisor, Grand Rapids, MI - Kevin Fase

looking for a loan?                                 LinkedIn

Welcome and thanks for visiting my profile. As a mortgage advisor, I am dedicated to doing what is right for my clients, not just what is easy.

There are plenty of lenders available offering mortgages...but simply "providing a mortgage" isn't good enough. I take into consideration all personal preferences and seek to understand my clients needs first before I make any recommendations and help them choose the best loan which will meet their financing requirements.

I specialize in helping my clients meet their long and short term financial goals as they relate to their home equity objectives.

Most people think that I am in the business of just providing loans. While that is my primary focus, I feel my role as an advisor needs to be more than just about offering loans. People come to me seeking help and advice with one of the largest debts of their life. Therefore, it is my responsibility to help them find the best solutions which will meet their financial needs.  In addition, I also share how to manage home equity to increase their liquidity, safety of principle, increase credit scores and reduce tax liability. Ultimately, I help homeowners integrate the loan they select into their overall long and short term financial and investment plans which hopefully will make a difference in their lives.

A mortgage today is not the same as it was for our parents and grandparents. Today a mortgage can be used as a financial tool which over time could lead to a debt free strategy or significant wealth creation.

When shopping for a lender, asking the right questions will ensure you are speaking with a knowledgeable and experienced mortgage professional that will be capable of advising you properly. There are FOUR CRITICAL QUESTIONS all buyers need to be asking lenders and these must be answered correctly. Not knowing the answers to these questions is the same as a doctor not knowing how to cure you. Curious what those questions are? Contact me and I'll email them to you.

Many people start their search for a lender by asking interest rate and closing cost questions.  I couldn't agree more that the lowest rate and cost is important to minimize interest expense and cash due at close. However, it is far more important to ask a lender if they know when is the best time to lock your interest rate. If a lender can not explain how interest rates are Looking for mortgage loan?determined, how they move in real time and what economic reports affect rates, then you are probably speaking with someone who is quoting a low rate, but doesn't know how to protect it against costly rate increases. As a result, the low rate being offered could be at serious risk and no longer available in the days to come. We've all heard stories of someone we know who chose a lender offering a low rate but were stuck with a higher rate or increased fees at the closing table. This unfortunately happens more often than we hear and often too late for the buyer to do anything else. The lender didn't know how to protect the rate they initially offered and couldn't afford to make it available at closing unless they CHARGED MORE for it or increased the rate. Locking a rate too late is obviously a professional flaw, but what could be worse than that? How about locking your interest rate too soon?! If economic reports were indicating rates will be lower the next day, then you would want your mortgage professional to advise you not to lock today right? YOU BET!

Each week I email a report to my clients detailing what economic reports will affect rates for the week ahead. This same report states how rates responded to the economic reports from the week prior. Timing is everything when it comes to making the decision to lock a rate that affects the payment my clients receive for the duration of the loan they select. The decision of how to choose a lender and when to lock a rate shouldn't be taken lightly. However, I have found there are some people who spend more time shopping for a new TV than they do searching for the right mortgage advisor. Crazy is it?  Let me help you simplify the process to making smart financial decisions.

BE SMART...ASK QUESTIONS...GET ANSWERS.
