About Us:

Kathryn Gorham & Bonnie Halloween Green Key Properties

Kathryn Gorham and her faithful assistant Bonnie
serving Emerald Isle, NC and the Crystal Coast.

Crystal Coast NC is a beautiful undiscovered niche of paradise. Emerald Isle is the jewel I call home (& work). Some of the best beaches and sport fishing in the world can be found right off our coast. Come play!

I am a REALTOR broker in Emerald Isle, a great beach town on the Crystal Coast of NC. I would say my great passion in life is LEARNING. With that said, I guess you won't be surprised to hear that I was the 2007 and 2008 Chair of the Education Committee for the Carteret County Association of REALTORS and Women's Council of REALTORS.

Yes, I love walking my dog on the beach too!

In addition to real estate sales I'm also involved in developing condos in the area. We are currently developing The Villas at Magens Bay Condos there are three 12-plexes now completed and three parcels for future development. This is an "off-island" project yet only four miles from the beach.

While wearing my Broker hat I find some of the most common transactions in our area to be resales, lots, full time single family residences, investment properties and second homes. We have a wide range of products in our market. Some unique features in coastal sales that "inland" agents often don't experience are stormwater runoff issues, septic, CAMA (Coastal Area Management Act) regulations and Single Family income properties.

Kathryn grew up one of six children working in her parents' "Mom & Pop" grocery store in the small town of Langeloth, Pennsylvania. She says,"Consequently by the age of 5 I participated in more battles and stood up for myself more frequently than most adults. It was that or get lost in the pack."

She worked for the airlines and lived all over the county (Kansas City, Dallas, Houston, Denver, Salt Lake City, Montclair NJ, and Raleigh).

Kathryn's 1st Birthday

She found her way to Cary, NC for several years where she got her real estate agent's license and then broker's license. After working as a member of the Kelly Cobb Home Team she decided it was time to realize her dream of living at the beach and packed her bags for Emerald Isle and the Crystal Coast.
"Growing up as one of six kids in the family business I learned many things, but most importantly I learned to treat customers with honesty, listen to what people ask for and do my best to supply it, and to be grateful for the opportunity to call them my customer and in many cases my friend as well."

Fun things and those letters

Alphabet soup in real estate can get confusing. See below some real estate and non-real estate designations.

Second largest barrier reef in the world is off the coast of Belize.

Henry & I fell in love with the quaint town of San Pedro on Ambergris island and the diving there.

When not playing or working I enjoy boosting my spiritual awareness. Here is a picture of Henry and me at a meditation retreat in October 2008.

It's a great way to let go of stress.

Virtual Visit to the Crystal Coast

Kathryn (& Bonnie) love the Crystal Coast and want you to come visit even if it is only for a virtual visit. Click below and enjoy.
Fishing at the Crystal Coast is some of the best anywhere. Also there is pier fishing in Emerald Isle at the Bogue Inlet Pier. One of  only a handful of ocean piers left.
Crystal Coast's past is full of civil war relics including Fort Macon and before that Blackbeard roamed the coastline. His ship the Queen Anne's revenge is being resurrected today.
Wild horses on the shores of the Crystal Coast can  be found on the Shakleford Banks and are the descendants of those of the Spanish settlers.
Wreck diving off the Crystal Coast is full of adventure including a World War II German submarine U352.
Crystal Coast's lighthouse on Cape Lookout is known as the Diamond Lady due to the diamond paint job on her exterior. You can find some of the best shells on her shores as well as some of the best surfing.
The aquarium at Crystal Coast's town of Pine Knoll Shores is one of thee NC aquarium with a $20,000,000 renovation completed in 2007.
