Mama Kim

My husband and I have been married for 26 years and have 4 daughters who are 14, 14, 19 & 22 and 1 son, 24. Our son and his wife have 3 sons, 1-1/2, 3 and 5 years old and are expecting their 1st daughter February '10. our oldest daughter and her husband have a son born 11/5/09 and our 2nd daughter and her husband are expecting a daughter in March '10. My family has been the focus of my life's work and that is how I treat my clients, like extended members of my own family. I take great pride in helping people to achieve their Dream of Home Ownership. Whether you are a family of 1 or 100, where you live is of utmost importance to you and no one can decide where that should be except you, so I do not consider it my job to SELL you a house. I can help you to purchase the house you choose, because no matter how much research can be done on the Internet, you never know for sure until you actually visit the property for yourself.

Not to mention, I know how hard it is to stretch a dollar to provide for a large family, so when I serve as a Buyer's Agent, I work very hard to ensure that my clients pay as little money for their new home and obtain the financing that will allow them to get it at the lowest cost possible. When I wear my Listing Agent's Hat, I work just as hard to get the most money  and best terms for the Sellers.

Regardless of who I represent, I encourage my Sellers to embrace the thinking of Buyers and my Buyers to understand the psychology of Sellers and all to approach negotiations from a Win-Win perspective. The Golden Rule when applied to a Real Estate Transaction can mean the difference between a smooth flow of time and details from Contract to Closing and a nit picking battle of who can aggravate who more. The 1st option leaves a very good taste in everyone's mouth and the time leading up to and following settlement can be devoted to areas of utmost importance. The 2nd option causes anger, frustration, anxiety and when everything comes to an end, the bitterness will linger for far too long.

Areas of Expertise

It has been a relatively short time since the departure from the traditional, though often misunderstood, Real Estate practice of all Agents representing the Seller. To this avail, I have felt it an important investment of my time, energy and monetary resources in order to pursue thecredited Buyer's Representative (ABR) Designation. This has allowed me to expand my horizons to encompass the special needs of Buyers.

I have also earned the GRI (Graduate of the REALTORS Institute) which represents an even higher level of education and committment to Customer Service. At this time, my current pursuit is of the CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) which has only been obtained by the top 3% of the more than 1,000,000 agents in the United States.

I get the most personal satisfaction when helping 1st Time Home Buyers. Even though they require the most time and energy, here is where the greatest impact is made in any Buyer category. In my own home, we have entertained more than 5,000 people in the last 8 years since we moved 3 miles from our church. We have housed more than 150 people from 1 night to 2 years, with the average stay being about 2 weeks. These guests have come from 5 of the 7 continents of the world. Fotunately, most of them spoke English, but the universal language of smiles and kindness has gotten us through many a language barrier. So, helping people to feel at home is an everyday practice and a natural part of my life. 25% of my business comes from people Relocating to the Greater Metropolitan Baltimore Area, but 98% of my business comes through personal REFERRALS. Current and Past Clients, as well as people who know me outside of my Real Estate practice, honor me with the privilege of helping their friends, neighbors, co-workers and loved ones to help them avhieve their Dream of Home Ownership.

Relocating to Maryland

Maryland is a thriving locale for relocation from all over the country and we are also the hub for international relocation traffic as well. Being home to more than 15 Military Installations and Facilities, as well as numerous corporations of all sizes, makes us an ideal place to live. You will find everything from mountains to beaches and almost any type of recreation found elsewhere in the US, right within our state boundries.

We will be adding more than 15,000 jobs to 2 of our military installations, Aberdeen Proving Ground in Harford County and Fort George G. Meade in Anne Arundel County, as a result of the Base Realignment and Closure Act of 2005 [BRAC] between now and 2012. People will be coming from all over the country to fill those positions, but that majority will be coming from NJ and VA.

There will be many challenges for those moving south as a result of BRAC, considering many of them do not wnat to make this move. The decision was made for them and many are dragging their feet as to the timing of their move. Actually, the sooner the better, so they will get their house sold before values begin to drop in their areas and before the values begin to rise in ours. I am all about educating folks to what is happening, so they can make the best informed decsions for their families possible.
