- Description
- I am the managing partner of our Keller Williams Realty office in North Charleston, SC and my business partner Cynthia Haskins and I are also Productivity Coaches for several SC/NC offices.
About Us:
It's kind of funny. What it takes to succeed in Real Estate (as in most service businesses) is rediculously well-documented. Take for example one of the best selling business books of all time and the best selling Real Estate sales book ever, "The Millionaire Real Estate Agent". Reading kind of like a thesis study of what high producing sales businesses all have in common, this book outlines with simplicity, clarity and precision exactly what one would need to do to achieve stratospheric levels of success in real estate sales.
Here's the funny part. Only a teeny, tiny fraction of agents practice what this book preaches. And the funnier part...those crazy few who do implement these practices into their business tend to be wildly successful in real estate. See...I told you it was funny. I know, I know. It doesn't make sense. You're right. You're probably asking yourself, "if it's so well-documented, why isn't everyone doing it?". I asked myself the same thing over and over again. The only answer I can come up with is that focus, purposefulness and accountability (all key ingredients to the success we all strive for) rarely if ever come naturally. In fact, our instinct often times is to run from them. But those that intentionally "stand on the shoulders of giants" and embrace the path to stellar success in our business are generally rewarded with more business than they know what to do with.
At Keller Williams, we like to think of Productivity Coaching as the vehicle that helps our agents to bridge the divide between understanding what it takes to succeed in real estate and actually doing it. I hope you enjoy our blog. I hope you get some ideas that help to spark your energy and enthusiasm for your business. And above all else, I hope you get motivated to embrace accountability as one of the most powerful tools you have available to achieve any level of success you desire.

Areas of Expertise
Although we are primarily foucused now on growing our local Market Center and in coaching and consulting with agents, our sales team Haskins & Martin succeded to very high levels. Between 2005 and 2007, we succesfully grew our sales team to a closed volume of about $16M. Over this period we learned a lot by failing forward in virtually every aspect of our business. From staff to accountability to expenses and even lead generation. We took every possible setback that we ever encountered as an opportunity to grow and become stronger.
Fast forward to 2008 and Cynthia and I are following our passion of helping others to reach their full potential in this amazing business. While the shifted markets all across the country have negatively affected so many agents, we see this as just another opportunity to learn and to become stronger. This market also has the unique advantage of acting as the vehicle that will bring about the greatest transfer of wealth that our industry has ever seen...from those who used to have it in the early to mid 1990's to those who will have it from here forward.
Our mission is to help as many people as possible to seize this golden opportunity before them and to change their careers and indeed their lives in ways they never imageined.
Testimonials
"I know the system works! The cumulative effect is so true.... While I was away, two of my listings sold, Jill sold another, and I took a listing from an appointment I went on the week before I left! I can assure you I am back on track! Thanks again for being there for us!"

Hi Chris,
Just wanted to send you a quick testimonial...
About a month ago I started in your coaching and attempted to get these 1000+ points. I started doing all sorts of things I haven't really done before- yeah- even door knocking. As luck, or persistence, has it... At a "networking event" (boat trip with about 15 people) real estate came up as it usually does. A girl I had met a few times before asked me to be her agent. She said she already had the house picked out and was ready to move soon. That conversation led to her closing on her first house just over 2 weeks later! She also referred me to a friend- who we're getting a listing from and I'm representing as a buyer up in Summerville. If I had not gone on that "networking event" boat trip, I could have missed out on three deals. Those "networking events" can be fun (if you choose the right ones) and lead to some serious business.
Thanks,
Chris Avera

"To reiterate the fact that the letters and calls are ‘working their magic,' I wanted to report that I have sold a FSBO and have taken another listing two doors down. In addition, I received another call today from another neighbor who might be interested in selling and wants to talk.
Also in response to a note that I wrote to a long ago potential buyer, I received a call from him and it turns out that not only is he thinking of buying, but being a developer, he asked me to meet with him this week to possibly get some of his lake front condos in the Charleston market. Hopefully this will lead to other things as he is very involved in real estate in another area and also a sale!!
Thanks for showing us these practices that help us to grow our businesses and putting up with our low scores as we muddle through the ‘paperwork!'"

"When I started selling Real Estate last May at the North Office, I was on a team, I had one buyer prospect and one possible listing. Well the team split up, the buyer bought a home and the seller listed with me. What now? I attended every single camp 443 lesson and was dying to get more information to be a successful agent. The next step for me was to attend Productivity Coaching. At present I have 4 active listings, three pending, 4 active buyers, one pending and I am listing three houses this week bring my total active listings to 7.
Here at the North Office our Productivity Coaching is like a club. An elite, buyer getting, listing getting, money making club. I have learned how to keep my business rolling along evenly instead of taking the roller coaster ride that many agents take, business up - business down. I would like to say that I am a fabulous time blocker and I make calls to FSBO's and expired listings everyday, but truthfully I have not made one of those calls. If you have ever met me you will recognize that I am a "little" outgoing.
If you have ever spent time with me, you are now my friend. I maintain a huge database of friends, former co-workers, acquaintances, etc. I have learned how to keep in touch with my data base through my activity coaching. I am pretty competitive, so I like the points that I receive when I go to visit, or call a friend. All of my clients have been referrals, they are now my friends. I actually received a thank-you note from a former co-worker for sending her a newsletter. She posted it on the bulletin board at work - I just made 180 new friends. I know that if you "join the club" attend Productivity Coaching, participate in the class and make new friends, your business will be as successful as mine."
