About Me

Hello, my name is Lazaro Suarez and I'm a realtor here in New Orleans, LA. I first became interested in real estate when my uncle opened his mortgage company. As time past he slowly became more and more successful with his company, and even got into flipping homes. As I watch this unfold in front of me, I thought, wow, that seems like it would be really cool to do for a living. I mean, you don't have to go to school for years like other professions, and yet make good money. However, I never did get licensed when I turned 18. Instead, I got into the restaurant industry and moved my way up through hard work. I started making good money which side tracked me from real estate, however, it was always in the back of my head. I started getting tired of the late hours, and working on the weekends. It paid decent, but it never seemed worth it in the end. So, one summer that seemed to be as ordinary as any other turned out to be the most active hurricane season on record. Yes, 2005 was when Katrina hit my great city. Many things changed, including my resolve. I decided to finally get my real estate license. Since then, it has been a crazy road with real estate, and it turned out it wasn't so easy making money in it after all. However, I'm still very determined and press on with as much optimism as I can. I'm going to be 25 soon, and am very ambitious. I work very hard and am extremely aggressive. I try to be on top of all the new technologies coming out, and the ones that are available now.

One story that really stands out to me is a seller I worked with. She was awesome, she was an older woman, but really cool. Anyways, it all started when I noticed her home was no longer listed with her previous realtor. I noticed there were various things that led to her home not selling. So I gave her a call and managed to scheduled an appointment with her. It was a big challenge to win the listing, but about after three hours with talking to her she finally agreed. As soon as I listed we changed the price and I took many pictures. Right there and then she thanked me. She said her past realtor gave her an unrealistic idea of what her home was worth, and that I added much more pictures with my marketing of her home. She thanked me many times throughout the listing period letting me know what a great job I was doing. Anyways, within a few months the home did sell. I found out the buyer was relocating and noticed the home in the middle of the night on the internet. She said she loved the pictures I took and thats what attracted her to the home. It really made me feel good inside. I knew then that us realtors can really have a positive experience in peoples lives, by really helping them get through this huge task in their lives.
