I have built my reputation on honesty, that includes not having any difficulty telling clients what they don't want to hear.  I am a very straight up, tell it like it is girl.  I don't attract "needy" clients or buyers/sellers that need to be handled with kid gloves.  I have worked as a Realtor for six years and have sold quite a few properties that were considered "unsellable" because I don't think there is any substitute for working hard and being straightforward.  I won't tell you I can do something I can't do and I won't promise a sale in 90 days if I know it's going to take 6 months.  If I have a property listed, I do not waste my sellers time with "lookers" - pre-approved buyers are what we are going to have for showing appointments.  I return my calls, answer all the questions, have a track record that says I take 97% of the property I list to closing.  98% of the property I get a signed contract on closes.  I get results.

My husband and I operate a large family farming operation along with a commercial cattle business.  Due to the business associations gained through my "other" job, I am well versed in rural properties and land.  When a potential buyer wants to know about the condition of the 300 acres he, or she, is interested in, they will receive a knowledgeable answer.  I will walk the fences to check on their condition, test the ponds and know if the keyway is adequate, and have an understanding of what backwater is and how often it gets up.  I have renovated multiple older homes and am also very well versed in historic preservation and restoration.  Buyers or sellers of historic properties need a Realtor that knows the difference between Gothic and Eastlake, the value of original doors and hardware or if their floors are hand hewn as opposed to hand planed.

I had a client several years ago, a very successful retired businessman, that laughed out loud when I offered him glowing references from former clients during a listing appointment.  His comment was, "If you've been in the real estate business more than a year, I bet I can find a customer/client who doesn't like you a bit."

His take on the whole situation was that if you do your job well you are going to make someone unhappy along the way as everyone isn't pleased with honesty.  I had to agree with him so, in return, I offered to pass along the phone number of lady I knew was not happy with me at all.  His response to my offer was, "I bet she didn't like what you had to say and I'm just as willing to bet you made the mistake of telling her the truth."  He cancelled all the other listing presentations and we listed his home on the spot.

I can provide testimonials to my abilities as a Realtor those aren't particularly hard to come by.  I am so confident of my ability, I don't mind saying there are folks out there that don't care for me!
