Background: I was raised in a town of 60 people in northeast Arkansas. I ended up in Des Moines via a football scholarship at the University of Iowa and Hillcrest dorm romance with my wife.
Notable achievements: I was recently named Rookie of the Year by the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors. The collegiate achievement of which I am most proud was when I was named to the Academic All Big Ten team.
Why I do what I do: I honestly enjoy and take great pride in helping my clients find the right home.
The most rewarding part of my job is that my wife and I now count many of my clients as great friends.
What I do to get away from work: I love to take our puppies for a long walk around the neighborhood. If it's not too cold, my wife might even come.
Words to live by: Good enough never is.
Best business book I've read lately: "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg and John David Mann.
The best place in central Iowa to entertain clients or colleagues: Latin King restaurant.
One thing I would change about the Des Moines area: Sub-zero temperatures.
What Iowa can do to attract more people like me: Continue the growth initiatives that have made this city great, attract best-in-class employers and provide excellent live-work-play amenities throughout the city and state.
My leadership philosophy:Work every day to be the type of man my dogs think I am.

Central Iowa Homes for Heroes
I've started a new program in Iowa called, "Homes for Heroes." I'm the exclusive central Iowa Realtor for the program that gives significant home buying and selling discounts to every day heroes in our community, including military, health care professionals, public safety officers, firefighters, educators and civil servants. I have long admired people who dedicate their lives to serving their communities. My younger brother is an Infantry officer in the Army, my older sister is a Jag Officer in the Air Force, and my younger sister is going into the medical field. I am blessed to have real heroes in my immediate family and I know the sacrifices they have each made in order to make the world a better place.
Home for Heroes (HFH) allows me the opportunity to give back to my local heroes by offering rebates and discounts on everything associated with a real estate transaction through me. Specifically, I give buyers and sellers a 25 percent rebate on my gross commission. For example, this can mean a savings of $1,750 on a $200,000 home. Additionally, I have developed partnerships with other trusted professionals who offer real estate-related services and have agreed to also offer discounts to local heroes, which can add up to significant savings.

Five Stars all the way!! I am a first time home buyer and new to the whole process. Cy was very approachable, explained everything to me, and very personable. He was readily available to show houses and mapped out an approach each time so we hit each home on my list in a timely manner.
