Enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for all things real estate. Serving buyers and sellers in Cambridge, Arlington, Belmont, Medford, Somerville, Watertown and nearby Massachusetts communities.
Elizabeth A. Bolton, Cambridge Real Estate Agent
I've been a real estate agent in Cambridge, Massachusetts since 2000 and I truly love what I do. Real estate has long been my passion and my work ties together many of my longstanding interests including architecture, local history, decorating and design, house restoration and renovation, urban planning, and historic preservation.
As a lifelong New Englander, introducing people to all that our region offers is a real pleasure. Aside from a few times when jobs meant a move to another New England state, I've lived in or within 20 miles of the Cambridge / Boston area all my life. Nothing beats living in a college town - there's always activity - plenty to do, and plenty to see. Libraries, lectures, concerts, museums and more. And of course - sports! If you're relocating and are new to our area you can count on me to introduce you to the ins and outs of your newly adopted city.
When thinking about a move to Cambridge real estate buyers often decide to expand their search to neighboring towns. My core market includes Cambridge, Arlington, Belmont, Somerville, Medford and Watertown. Additionally I frequently work with buyers in Boston neighborhoods both downtown and in Charlestown, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale and West Roxbury. Or perhaps your search will extend to neighboring towns such as Brookline, Melrose, Chelmsford, Newton, Waltham, Winchester, Lexington or beyond. And if your search is outside of my territory I can connect you with the very best agent to help you with your search.
My local expertise and the experience gained from several home renovations means that I've got contacts and advice to share when you're contemplating projects for your new home.
When you're ready to sell your home I will work with you from the planning stages to the closing table. Do you have questions about what you need to do to get ready to sell? Wondering what the market is doing in our area? Concerned about the value of your home today?
Whatever your questions, I would be happy to meet with you to give you the best ideas about the current market, how to present your property in its best light, and strategies to get the very best price for your home. Whether you've lived in your house for generations or need to sell the condo you bought several years ago, you can be sure that you will be my number one priority - I treat every customer the way I would want to be treated or more importantly the way I would want my mother, my father or my brothers to be treated. Your concerns become mine.
Be sure to check out my website if you would like more information about real estate in Cambridge and nearby towns. You can search for homes in Cambridge and other Massachusetts towns without registration. If you want to be notified when new listings hit the market sign up for email alerts. Testimonials from Home Buyers and Sellers
The people I meet are one the highlights of my work as a Cambridge, MA real estate agent. Here are some of their kind words.
When friends ask me about my first home-buying experience, the first thing I tell them is that my real estate agent was awesome.
Liz is an all-star, I tell them.
I had a lot of requirements for my new place (I'm pretty picky), and she kept every single one of them in mind before showing me a property. I don't know how she did it--you can't quantify intuition, but she has it in spades. A few conversations, a morning of open houses to get a sense for what I valued in a home, and that was it. She *knew* what I was looking for. Even so, I still bombarded her with real estate questions, and Liz always responded promptly and thoroughly. (and even months after the sale--she still does!)
The search, the negotiation, the purchase, and even the inspection went so smoothly because I had a knowledgable and savvy realtor with me throughout the entire process. I feel very fortunate that Liz Bolton was my real estate agent, and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. Cambridge condo buyer
We just wanted to send you our heartfelt thanks for helping to make our first home-buying experience so smooth. You were very patient as we learned what we wanted and what technicalities were involved. It's an intimidating process but you helped us feel like we were ready for it. We love this condo so much - it has all the things we need. Cambridge homebuyer
Thank you for putting so much time and energy into searching for a home with us. We kow you do this for work but you've certainly treated us like you friends - always warm and friendly and most importantly, with a sense of humor. Somerville homebuyer
I wanted to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude for all you have done to help us buy our first home! The process was quite a learning experience and was made all the easier by having such a wonderful and knowledgeable ally on our side. Arlington home buyers
Looking for property in Massachusetts while living out-of-state was not an easy experience. In fact, it would have been an impossible task were it not for Liz's talents, recommendations and efficiency. You can be assured that we will recommend Liz to everyone who asks for a recommendation about housing in the Harvard community. Cambridge condo buyer
Elizabeth Bolton was very helpful as we made our first home purchase. Liz was able to provide realistic expectations of the type of property we would be able to afford in Cambridge and helped us to find a great property that we will be very happy in for years to come. I would highly recommend Liz to anyone looking for a home in Cambridge. Cambridge condo buyer
Liz served as both our buyers and sellers agent last summer, and we could not have been more pleased with her services. Liz is an outstanding professional, who calmly and effectively helped us to make a very positive change in our lives.
Liz worked with us to sell our current house in Cambridge - which was not even on the market when we made an offer on our new house - quickly and at an excellent price. All aspects of both the sale and purchase went smoothly, largely thanks to her diligent and professional management of the process.
Liz is thoughtful, courteous, knowledgeable, and works extremely hard for her clients. We would not hesitate to use her services again, and give her our highest recommendation. Cambridge home seller, Arlington home buyer
My husband and I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you some thoughts about our experience working with Liz. She sold our Watertown condominium this past spring, and was outstanding to work with from start to closing. We'd had our home on the market for a while last fall with little luck in selling it. We chose to meet with a few agents before listing it again in the spring and invited Liz into our home to meet with us and discuss listing. This meeting was a result of her proactive marketing via a postcard she had sent us after our home came off the market in the fall.
Liz's attitude was always realistic (which we asked for and truly appreciated) and positive, and we always felt we could trust her to make expert decisions about marketing and selling our property. In interviewing other agents, their advice was to list our property in the range of $429-$449,000. Liz though encouraged us to list it higher, saying that the market could bear a price of $459-$469,000. We listened to her, and we were so glad we did! It sold for $455,000. Since even at that price we were incurring a small loss, you can imagine how disappointed we would have been to have sold it for $429,000.
Not only did the property sell at a price comparable to what Liz suggested, but it sold within days of the initial listing. Liz carefully nurtured the purchase process through two prospective buyers (the first offer fell through), including two lengthy and somewhat treacherous home inspections. We were always informed throughout the process, and she helped us to navigate through tricky situations related to these inspections.
Liz was a pleasure to work with because she takes the time to listen and guide her clients and because of her market expertise. I would recommend Liz in a heartbeat and am grateful that she reached out to us, and that we had the opportunity to work with her.
I just wanted to thank you again for all the hard work you put in to sell my house in Medford. You most certainly went above and beyond the call of duty. It was truly a pleasure working with you. You have that never ending positive attitude that I sorely needed during a very stressful time.
I still have many friends in Medford and in the Cambridge / Boston area. Be assured that when they are ready to either buy or sell a house, you will be the first person they call for help. Thank you again for all the wonderful work. Medford home seller
We are so thankful to you for your skillful handling of our house sale! You've been terrific and we will miss learning from you and working with you! Cambridge home seller
We had a great experience working with Liz Bolton during the sale of our Somerville house. We left for a trip for one week, the house went on the market and by the time we returned, the house was under agreement - and for above the asking price!
Liz went out of her way, faxing and calling our small French hotel numerous times and setting up all the details of the sale while we were on vacation. The whole process proceeded smoothly and as painlessly as possible.
From our very first meeting with Liz when we sat down and reviewed the entire process, I felt very comfortable with her as our real estate agent. She explained things well and made us feel at ease. She guided us through the steps of the sale and was readily accessible to answer our numerous questions. I would highly recommend Liz Bolton for anyone looking to buy or sell a house. Somerville homeseller
My wife and I would like to note the excellent service provided by Elizabeth Bolton during the sale of our property. Liz handled numerous difficult situations on our behalf extremely professionally, and I felt she had very good judgement. Liz was pleasant and enjoyable during the entire process, and we will recommend others to work with her. Somerville multi-family seller
We are writing to express our great appreciation and highest regard for the work that Elizabeth Bolton has done over the last three years to help us coordinate the recent sale of our home in Cambridge and the purchase of a new home in the area. We recommend her with great enthusiasm, and will continue to send our friends to her as they buy or sell homes.
We spent two years looking at homes with Liz before making the decision to put our house on the market and she was patient, thorough, and extremely in-tune with our list of priorities and wishes over this extended period.
When we were ready to sell our house, Liz was extremely knowledgeable and strategic in her recommendations for marketing and pricing options. We were nervous about coordinating the timing of the sale with making an offer on a new house, but felt that she was the absolute best person to advise us on these transactions. Liz's intuition, experience and research were reassuring to us, and resulted in multiple offers within three-five days, and we accepted an offer over our asking price (and well beyond our expectations!) in less than a week of coming on the market! We were absolutely thrilled with the outcome.
Further, on a personal level, it was a great pleasure to work with Liz Bolton. She is a fair, kind, and extremely smart person who has a genuine love for real estate and old homes that shows through everything she does. We felt Liz educated us on many levels about real estate in the area, as well as armed us with information needed to focus our buying decisions. We will miss working with her! Cambridge multi-family house seller
