About Us:

I am originally trained as an engineer (BSME, Michigan State) and have an MBA from University of Southern California (USC) (Fight On, Trojans!).  I have Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI )and e-Pro certification and am a Licensed Broker.  I expect to complete my Council of Residential Specialists (CRS) credential this year as well.  I am also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Before becoming a Realtor, I spent 30 years in Corporate America managing large programs and software systems for Fortune 100 corporations, and I negotiated multi-Billion dollar contracts with the Federal Government.

I use my background as a former Geek (I say with some pride) to bring data analysis and technology skills to the party.  I specialize in giving people the data they need to make the sometimes complex decisions about real estate.  I have developed lots of great Excel analysis sheets for just about any situation so that clients can have some control and see for themselves the impact of the interest rate on the payments, the price on the escrow fees and capital gains taxes, etc.  I believe that if I have helped people to decide, even if the current decision is NOT to sell, then I've been successful, because I know they'll recommend me to their family or friends.

I've ben married to an architect for almost 20 years and we have flipped several homes together.  I have absorbed a great deal of construction knowledge and design savvy and I also bring this skillset to my clients to help them avoid poorly constructed homes or see diamonds in the rough when buying, or help prepare their homes for sale when selling. 

My negotiating skills are top-notch, honed from years of negotiating with difficult customers.   I use my project management background to keep all the balls in the air during escrows so that my escrows close smoothly and hassle free for my clients.  And I try to give individualized service to each client long after the deal is closed; when you hire me, you truly get a Real Estate Consultant for Life.  

Areas of Expertise

Although I try to stay knowledgable about the market in the entire South Bay so that I can help all my clients, I admit I have some favorite areas.  I especially focus on Manhattan Beach,  El Segundo, Hollyglen, South Redondo Beach, and the Hollywood Riviera and Southwood areas of Torrance, and the entire Palos Verdes Peninsula.  I figure I might as well specialize in the areas I like best! The reasons I like these areas are varied:  1) I live in Manhattan Beach and have for nearly 30 years, so the Manhattan/El Segundo and Hollyglen areas are "home" to me.  2)My office is in the South Redondo area near Riviera Village, so I spend a lot of each day in that part of town and know it well and  3) my daughter is a competitive equestrian so I spend time each day "on the Hill" and I have many friends and acquaintances who live all over the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula, so it seemed a natural fit for me to focus on understanding it too. 

My real area of expertise, though, that differentiates me from many other agents and Realtors is in my construction and "flipping" background and my business experience.  From doing my own projects and from being married to an architect for nearly 20 years, I have a fairly strong ability to walk through a house and see what it "wants to be" as my husband would say, and help clients see past ugly linoleum and chipped paint to the bones of a home and whether the bad floor plan can be fixed or not.  I also can help clients avoid problem properties, or conversely, get bargains on properties that other Realtors may be afraid of because they think that certain things are very expensive to fix when in actuality they are not that bad and I know just the contractor who can fix it!  And my hubby is always available to my clients for free consultations! 

I also have extensive negotiating expertise from years of negotiating multi-Billion dollar contracts with the Federal Government that I bring into play for my clients, so I have saved my Buyers lots of money and made lots for my Sellers.  If you are intersted in investment property, I have extensive analyses spreadsheets that I have custom developed that can help you determine if a property is the right one for you or if now is the right time for you to sell your old one and move up. 

I pride myself on "Concierge Service" for my clients.  I want my clients to feel both pampered and like they are in the hands of a true expert.  I am always prepared to work a deal for them, from a mobile printer to anywhere internet, efax, smartphone -- whatever it takes to make sure I or one of my team are in reach and available to help them with their needs.
