Your home is your biggest asset.  This is a challenging market that is not going to recover for a while.  I'm thankful I work for Coldwell Banker.  CBALM is a full service agency with full time Realtors.   A balanced market = 6 months of active inventory.  In many areas of Michigan that threshold is 4-6 times that ratio.

As a Michigan resident I feel your pain.  My greatest asset is my home and sadly that value has declined.  However, I would rather live in this great state than anywhere else.  I love our forests, Lake Michigan, rivers and streams.  I will joke about the snow but fall in love with it all over again in late fall.
