About Marla:

I am licensed to practice real estate in Maryland and Virginia. I lived in Maryland my whole life (born in Bethesda, attended Montgomery County schools, graduated from University of Maryland), never once thinking I'd "cross the river", but I did in 2004, and have lived in Gainesville, Virginia ever since. I regularly cross the river, now, to work with buyers and sellers in Maryland and Virginia equally.

 Living in Gainesville, I've had the opportunity to watch the area change from farmland to a fast-growing suburbia - my boyfriend John has lived in Gainesville for 15 years, and he says as soon as they build a mall here he's leaving. I personally won't mind a mall - I was excited to have a SuperTarget come in! :-)

My focus has always been on schooling - it is important to me to be educated so I can educate my clients. I have lots of letters behind my name: GRI (Graduate, Realtor Institute), e-PRO, ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) - basically they mean that I've taken extra classes beyond the required ones for maintaining my license. I enjoy taking the classes, I like to learn new things about the real estate industry, and I enjoy sharing that information with my clients.

Areas of Expertise

I have worked with first time homebuyers, investors, and many combinations of buyers and sellers. I like meeting new people, seeing new houses, and matching up the two. I love listings, because I get to know the sellers, what they love about their home, and I take on their sale as though it were my own. I love helping buyers, too, because it is exciting to help someone find the home of their dreams.
