As a result of having three children in a period of six months (yes it is possible. More in a bit on that) my wife asked that we think about relocating from Charlotte, NC to the Atlanta GA area where her mother and sister lived. After arriving in Atlanta after a 9 month effort in selling our home and dealing with two real estate agents that seemed to only care about money, I made the decision to get into the real estate business and make sure I never treated my clients the way we were treated.
What was amazing to me during the time we were trying to sell our $120,000 home was this:
1. The first agent made the comment that she usually sells only expensive homes. ($120,000 to me at the time was very expensive) Makes a man feel a little belittled when someone says something as rude as that. Fired her pretty quickly.
2. The second agent came to list the house took the listing and never once called us until we had a offer on the home.
Back to the three kids in six months: Adopted two beauties from the Ukraine and had a biological child six months to the day that we arrived back in the good ol' USA.
