Who I am and what I do

I am originally from Providence, Rhode Island. I moved to upstate New York in the summer of 1994 and attended Averill Park High School. Upon graduating in 1997, I decided to pursue a Bachelor's Degree at the University of Albany.  In my junior year I decided to put college on hold to enlist in the United States Marine Corps.     

In the Marines I served as a Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Defense Specialist with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Marine Divisions. In 2005 I returned to college attending Rhode Island College to complete my Bachelor's with a major in Psychology graduating with honors in 2006. While in college I met my future wife Amanda and I married her a year later. We now reside in Providence with our son, Phoenix. I continue to serve his country as a member of the RI Army National Guard and I received my commission as a Lieutenant August 2007. 

Beginning my professional career at Franchise Business Brokers Inc. until moving on to become a Mortgage Advisor  in 2006. I learned quickly working hard to give my clients the greatest opportunities for success in their Real Estate endeavors.   In 2009 I was welcomed to the Shamrock Financial Corporation team; the best of the best in the business.Shamrock Financial is a direct mortgage lender, not a broker meaning my client's files would be under my team's control to approve or deny based on the current guidelines. I recognized the higher level of professionalism and service that Shamrock Financial Corporation maintained and then realized that by becoming part of this team I could better serve his clients. I am thankful to be surrounded by so many incredibly talented and supportive people. 

I am excited about my future as the Regional Sales Manager of Shamrock. Financial   My career is one where I can support my family by helping others purchase the home of their dreams, or refinance to accomplish new financial milestones. I always work with the goal of advising my clients on building financial freedom through Real Estate.  I believe that the greatest part of my work is that I can be myself: a normal guy with the talent and skill that allows me to help others while creating life long relationships.

1. Kristen loves you..;) She likes your down to earth approach and non intrusive calls to just say hi and check in on her. She was blown away that you answered your cell phone on a day off with your family.We get voicemail 80% of the time with our current brokers.


2. It is common practise to call a mortgage broker and then wait 2-3 days for a return call. It is even MORE common practise to get into a deal that requires follow up and to sit on the financing aspect for 2-3 weeks with no answers or even a follow up call sometimes. Kristen is actually in the middle of a deal with another mortgage company where she has been waiting 2 months for a resolution to a complicated deal. Although I think she recently just gave you this client... which you must understand is a huge thing for our agents as we have this fierce loyalty to our lenders that live up here due to the subtle peer pressure to work with our neighbor/lenders.

 

Bottom line is that the market is now very competitive and we want to work for our buyers more than our mortgage brokers-- so a mortgage broker that can help us help our buyers will get our loyalty. We might be "old school" but we value results above all else.


You do have a natural gift for this Michael as you are the only mortgage broker I have even been open to meeting and arranging office visits. Frankly, the others have not impressed me nor have they made me feel like I was the customer. Your persistence without typical 'hard selling', your mindful communications without being intrusive and your unique programs are VERY compelling. We are professionals that LIVE this industry and we recognize the same qualities in the few lenders that share this with us. You have that.
