I have lived in beautiful Anacortes 15 years! I love this town and all it has to offer! I am ready to show you what makes this town the true jewel of the San Juan Islands and the premier place to live in the Northwest!

Anacortes is accessible by bridge from the mainland or Whidbey Island and is an easy 90 minute drive from Seattle or Vancouver, BC. We have a lot of shopping here, but if you need the big box stores like Costco or Target, they are just 30 minutes or less away in Burlington/Mt. Vernon. Like college towns? Bellingham is a quick 15 minutes north on I-5 from Burlington. When you are in Anacortes, hop on a state ferry to the rest of the major San Juan Islands or catch the county operated ferry to charming Guemes Island.

Weather or not...

We prefer not...rain, that is! That's why Anacortes is the perfect choice for Northwest living - close to the major metropolitan areas, but only half the rain of Seattle and rarely any snow! Summer temps occasionally get hot but hardly ever go over 80.

What's here...

Here's a short list... a new-in-2007 full service hospital, a beautiful library, great schools, amazing parklands, terrific restaurants, galleries, a museum, a bowling alley, lots of marinas, a thriving yacht-building community, a public swimming pool, the usual gamut of grocery stores, Blockbuster, Starbucks, fast food, etc., an awesome indie music scene and so much more! The cool thing about Anacortes is that it is not charming in the traditional sense - it always was, and remains, an eclectic, working town with a wonderful mix of residents and lifestyles.

The scenery here will blow you away!

After all these years, I still am in awe everytime I drive through town at how beautiful it is here. The islands, the water and the brilliant blue skies will make your cares vanish! You haven't lived until you have seen a full moon rise over a pink sunset painted Mount Baker. In the transitional seasons, it is common to see the Northern Lights late at night. The Canadian mountains are gorgeous in the morning sun and the air is at times so crystal clear it is almost surreal. Come and see for yourself!
