I'm lucky I picked up the do's and don'ts online when I attempted to date online. It was my introduction to blogging, when you think about it, blogging is conversation style and a profile setup with pics. Many times with online dating the profile and the real person were nothing like I had hoped for. It happens with bloggers too, just be yourself!
Back in the late 90's I had a website, I did nothing to it and it was supposed to spit out mortgage leads and make me millions of dollars! I bought it, it was expensive, with very little training and it didn't help! There weren't a lot of choices back then so......
I made my own real estate website in 2000. It wasn't pretty. I never recieved a lead or sold a house from it. (not sure cause I never thought to ask) But I had something most agents did not have..lol..my website. They would look at me like what? I always shared it when I was presenting my marketing to a home seller to sell their house! It worked, I had the edge.Today people would gasp and run away from you without a website or fail to use technology.
People thought I had lost my mind when I talked about using facebook for business and one day we would have touch screen and voice activation. All I could say was mark my words. It's gonna happen. I giggle...
What Changed My business forever
I remember holding a very long training on blogging. We made sure and served lunch and gave breaks. I was shocked watching people and they couldn't wait for the training to end.. I knew then..some would do it and some would not!
2009 a real estate broker wanted to talk to me about running her social media and blogging but not in my name but her company. I didn't take it serious right away but then when I thought about it..
I knew in 2009 one day many brokers and companies would hire someone to handle this for the. And it would become a common practice in business. Especially if businesses wanted to grow.
I knew since the 90's that the world would be wired this way. Now 93% of home buyers start their search online.
The bubble burst throughout the State of Florida and I took a turn and never looked back. I started ghostwriting and running social media campaigns.
