I realize this wouldn't be a proper Realtor's bio page, however, without telling you more about myself. So please take a few minutes to read on. You'll learn more about Mike Argyle, and what I can do to assist you with your real estate needs.

I've lived in Traverse City with my wife and three children for over 20 years. Beginning in the mid-1960's, my parents utilized every opportunity to spend as much time as possible in this area. By the time I graduated from Michigan State University in 1984, my parents had established our home here.

For most of the last 20 years I worked for Ameritech/SBC, first as a yellow pages account manager, and then as an integral member of their information technologies team. Prior to leaving SBC in 2004, I earned a Most Valuable Player award from my peers for my efforts in training, support and application development. The same drive, attention to detail, customer service focus, and forward-thinking that made me successful then, is what I provide to my clients now.

There's more to life, however, than just a career, and you can tell a lot about a person by how they spend their free time. I'm a firm believer that you get back what you put into life, and that our youth, and our enjoyment of life, are two critical factors affecting how we grow as a society. That's why I contribute so much of my time to our community. I coach youth soccer, and have for over 15 years. I developed our soccer club's "Juniors" division for children ages 4 - 10. I've helped put on 3 soccer tournaments, and regularly volunteer my time at others. I'm one of the founding members of the committee that established our community's non-motorized trail, and I've helped put on 3 nationally televised mountain bike races. You'll find me helping at numerous local events, holding the door for you at local businesses, and letting you into traffic during rush hour.

I love the great outdoors, and I especially enjoy the water. That's why I live here, rather than anywhere else in the world. Whether I'm kayaking on one of the Great Lakes, fishing on one of our many inland lakes, or hiking into a remote waterfall on one of our rivers or streams, it's my favorite way to spend time with my family and friends. That's why I'm a true waterfront and water view specialist. I've spent hours, if not days, on the water here in northern Michigan. I've gone through the process of purchasing homes and property near the waves and currents, and I've done my homework. Nearly every realtor in northern Michigan will tell you they specialize in waterfront. I have the experience and knowledge of one that has lived at the waters' edge for most of my life.

So what do I bring to the table as a Realtor? A new way of doing business in one of the world's oldest professions. I combine "classic" real estate marketing practices with avante garde methods and state-of-the-art technologies. The real estate business has changed dramatically over the last 10 years, and will change even more rapidly in the next 5. I provide the best of both worlds - good old fashioned service and digital age know-how. It's a unique time to be buying or selling real estate - it's critical you choose the right realtor for the job.

I'm more than just a modern realtor with a geeky side though. I care. I want you to be happy with the home you're buying, that you're getting the best price for the property you're selling, and that the accompanying process is smooth and enjoyable. To that end, I'm not afraid to break the mold and implement creative commission plans, to put forth innovative offers, or to utilize resourceful negotiation methods. I want what you want, and know that in the end, my earnings will take care of themselves, as long as I take good care of you.
