About Us:
My greatest strength is in building relationships. I love people....love to learn what makes them tick, what styles and colors make them happy, confident and optimistic. My extensive experience in the non-profit sector counseling families has provided me with invaluable experience working with people and attuning myself to listen, listen, listen.
I love the way, while working with a homeowner, I can facilitate and support a great and profitable relationship between the seller and the realtor. I'll treat your sellers the way I would want to be treated--never talking down to them, always sensitive to and appreciative of the places they've come from and supporting them in their plans for the future. Selling a house is a stressful event; I LOVE to make it easier, even enjoyable, by helping them find unexpected joy in the process.
When a realtor introduces a seller to me, they are giving the seller a true gift they can take to all their future homes. Often, a staging client is so convinced of the value staging added to their old home, that they hire me to help them make design decisions about their new home. Relationships between agent, stager and seller really are WIN, WIN, WIN!
Areas of Expertise
I consider color and textiles my specialty. From the time I was a 10-year old 4-Her, to attending Fashion Institute of Technology for Interior Design, to weekend jaunts to fabric or paing stores, color and fabric have always sparked my creativity. I design and create window treatments (usually keeping them very simple, often 'no-sew' for sellers) and love to make color schemes 'work' in homes for sale. Often that involves a lot of visual decluttering and simplifying. I love words, as well, so it's easy for me to apply the technique of 'editing' to the concept of staging a home. In homes on the market, it really is true that "Less is More."
In selling my own homes in three states, I always found it so important to strike the balance between 'a place you could live' with furnishings to convey warmth and life, and 'clutter' with not enough visual space to allow buyers to see a home's potential. It's not an easy task, but I LOVE the challenge and have numerous success stories to show that I'm up for it!
Today's market involves knowing how to hit the right notes to appeal to a very wide range of buyers...upwardly mobile, empty nesters, downsizing, cross country relocations...knowing how to 'style' a home to appeal to a wide market is something that I love to do since I've made long-distance moves myself and been in those kinds of situations.
