I was born in Arizona but have called Mid-Missouri home for the past 13 years.  My husband and I have lived in Ashland, Centralia and Columbia so I'm personally familiar with our surrounding towns.  I received my BS from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. 

I live outside of Columbia on 10 acres with my husband, two daughters, son and a wandering lab named Jessie.  I have been an active member, and 3 term secretary, of our local chapter of the MOMS Club of Northern Columbia since 2000.  If anyone is struggling to make new mommy friends and playmates for their children after a move or transition of employment, I encourage you to contact the International MOMS® Club to see if there is a chapter in your area.  It is a wonderful support group of Moms Offering Moms Support.

We are also the proud owners of a Century farm located outside the Southern Illinois town of St. Francisville.  Johnson Farms has been farming it for us for years and we are proud of the work they do!

Located halfway between St. Louis and Kansas City, Columbia is a unique city with a lot to offer.  It has all the qualities of a friendly, mid-western city, as well as many big city features, which make it very unique.  Columbia is a college town, with a strong non-manufacturing business base including healthcare, insurance and education.  As home to the University of Missouri- Columbia, Stephens College and Columbia College, there is always something to do.  There are plays, concerts, festivals, museums and unique shopping in the downtown historical district. 

Columbia offers many opportunities for the active family.  The parks system is extensive and includes public pools, swimming lakes, extensive bike and hiking trail systems.  The Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) offers indoor year round swimming, fitness equipment and group classes/activities.

The school system in Columbia is highly regarded.  A new elementary school and high school are in the planning stages.

Columbia offers multiple housing options. There are several well established neighborhoods with houses that offer the historical character of yester year.  Columbia continues to grow and more communities offer newer residences as well as new construction. 

Columbia is the regional retail hub of the area.  Many national chains and independent stores are located in Columbia.  Columbia Mall is anchored by Dillards, Target, JcPenney and Sears.  Also in Columbia you will find an Old Navy, Famous Bar, Tuesday Morning, The Home Depot, Lowes as well as many other national chains.  Local reatuarants are popular as well as locally owned business that caters to the local fare.

The surrounding communities offer small town living within a 30 minute commute to Columbia.  Rural living is available on small and large acreages.
