Being in the dark during mortgage process is for the birds.
Buyer's entitled to privacy when applying for a mortgage this is true.
It's also true that buyer can authorize loan officers to keep their real estate agents informed.
In my experience, most buyers authorize their agents to stay in the loop. I always ask because I believe it's beneficial to a buyer to have an informed agent to manage the over all buying process.

Join new trend - Since many pre-approval letters aren't worth the paper they're printed on, Sellers/Listing Agents now require buyers to be pre-approved by their loan officer. No obligation to use that loan officer, of course. They just want an in-depth pre-approval screening before taking their home off the market.
