Some interesting info on Sky Realty and our Broker, Jeffery Dochen:
• Sky Realty Inc. is a branch off from Shelton Properties, which has been active in West Lake and the Austin area for over 60 years. Our Broker, Jeffrey Dochen, has been a real estate broker since the late 1970's, and has completed several small subdivisions in this area including, The Forest at Westlake, The Gardens, Bridgeview Terrace, and is currently developing one called Rob Roy West on Bee Cave Road.
• His step father, Emmett Shelton, began purchasing land in the West Lake area in the 1930's. He built most of the roads such as Westlake Drive, Red Bud Trail, The High Road, Toro Canyon, etc. In 1953 Emmett started the City of West Lake Hills. He started the local fire department, the water system that became Water District # 10 which serves most of the West Lake area. When Eanes School needed to build several new buildings, he personally guaranteed the bank loan and then held Bingo games every Saturday night to help repay the loan!
• During Jeffrey's years practicing real estate, he has had many interesting clients such as Michael Dell, Richard and Maggie Balough (editor of the American Statesman), Celeste Beard (who plotted with her lesbian lover to murder her husband), and Leslie Cochran (who is often seen downtown wearing his t-back and tiara).
