I was a first-time homebuyer moving with the government and had three days to come in town and find a home.  I had done some research online the weeks before, but without the help and commitment of Neal Barnes, I would never have made a success out of it!  We had been in contact, but it wasn't until the evening before I came in town when I sent him a list of about 50 homes that fit my criteria.  He was ready with a game plan by 9am the next morning, with print-outs and extensive market reports on almost all of the homes I selected.  With the efforts Neal made to make the route the most efficient to enable the quickest search, over the next two days we looked at almost 40 homes.  He quickly began to notice my tastes and show homes that were more and more to what I preferred.  This was only the beginning of the hunt.  When I chose a home I liked, Neal helped create a very tough offer, below asking price, requesting the seller fix many minor, and one major problem in the home.  I'm not sure what exactly was in that letter, but the seller complied.

Five weeks later I moved in and we had a problem.  The interior AC unit that had previously leaked water on the carpet - and was supposed to have been repaired by the seller before move-in, was leaking again.  The selling agent fought hard against taking responsibility.  It was over a month after closing and they simply refused to pay, but Neal was persistent.  Many phone calls back and forth and multiple visits from repairmen, the unit was repaired and the carpet was cleaned, at no expense to me.  This was a huge relief; the thought of buying a home to later find a major problem is a nightmare!

Since then, Neal has stopped by to check on the situation and offer further advice on home maintenance.  It was a real relief to have someone so committed to my satisfaction, even after the sale was complete!  With little of my own experience, it is easy for agents to take advantage of the situation, but with such good representation on my side, the process was much less stressful!

I have recently sold my home with the assistance of your agent Neal Barnes. This is the second real estate transaction Mr. Barnes has helped our family with in the past three years.

He sold us the home on East Olympic Drive and guided us through a very difficult closing with the owner facing bankruptcy and a bitter divorce settlement. The house had basically been abandoned by this family. He helped us negotiate a great price and the house turned out to be not only a terrific investment but also a wonderful home that perfectly fit our needs.

When it came time to sell the house, we naturally turned to Neal. Based on our positive experiences with him in the past we knew he would be the best agent to market our home and get a good return for our investment. My husband had already started a new job in Thailand and I was left alone with the daunting task of getting the house ready for showing. Mr. Barnes was there for me every step of the way. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a great eye for detail that helped me through the sea of paperwork I was facing.

Neal was able to recommend contractors for my repairs and helped me to review their work. He brought in a consultant to help me "stage" the house for maximum viewing potential and then helped me implement her suggestions by moving heavy boxes and items of furniture. If a picture needed to be hung or the driveway needed to be pressure washed he was there for me. He either helped me himself or guided me to the right person for the job.

When the house was ready for showing he did an incredible job of marketing it to potential buyers. He took hundreds of pictures from every angle in all different types of lighting to make a flyer that showcased our home at its best. He hired a service to film a virtual tour of every room on our home. When he scheduled open house tours he canvassed the neighborhood with flyers. The evening before our first open house Neal dropped by to make sure things were ready.

Neal sold our house and we made a great profit from our investment. I had joined my husband in Thailand by this time and he again guided us through a complicated closing via email, fax machine and international courier. We could have never accomplished this with a less experienced agent.
