Aloha, my name is Steven Nickens and I work with The Wailea Group LLC. in Wailea, Maui.  Maui has been my home for over 36 years and I have been a full time agent for 14 years.  Previously I was a contractor on Maui for 18 years which has given me a strong understanding  and back ground in the housing industry. Our firm represents many of Wailea's finest projects such as The Wailea Beach Villas which has been completed for a couple years now, Hoolei Wailea, Papali Wailea and the new Baccarat Wailea Hotel & Residences.  I have experience in vacant land, development and general real estate on all Maui to better serve you with all your real estate needs.   My real estate sales experience is not limited to South Maui www.nickensmaui.com.  I have lived and worked on the North Shore of Maui for over 30 years. I have extensive experience in the upcountry real estate market and know it well.  I was a licensed contractor and owned and operated an interior store on Maui for 18 years. I have also built five homes for my self and understand the process from start to finish as far as what it takes to build homes on Maui.

  My goal has always been to treat my clients how I would expect to be treated with the highest level of professionalism.  I work hard at my job and I love what I do.  I have had the privilege of meeting clients from all over the world and making many new friends.  I have received numerous awards as a top Producer.

  In my spare time I love to surf and have been doing it all my life.   I took up windsurfing last summer and I really having fun sailing.  Maui is the windsurf capital of the world. A lot of my friends are current or past world Champions so I have a lot of great coaches. I also took up stand-up paddling with my wife and find it a great work out and fun to do coast runs.  I am also a passionate Gardner and cook in my spare time. My yard is full of oranges, papayas, mangos, avocados and bananas. I currently am working on a series of raised vegetable beds.

My family has been very active in our local Church at Hope Chapel in Kihei over the years. I have raise four kids ages 21 to 32 and love hanging out with my daughter or going surfing with my son who is a pro surfer.  My family has strong roots in the community, my wife is born and raised on Maui.  She is a very talanted artist and a beautiful local girl from Haiku. Now and then the girls (fellow realtors) give me the call to come down to the homeless shelter to put on dinners which is always a Hugh blessing.

So life on Maui is good. We are very blessed with good weather, beaches, great people and living on the north shore and living the dream. Maui has been my home where I have raised my kids and my wife is born and raised in the island.  Maui is a life style that is unique compared to any where in the world. One area I work really hard at is marketing properties on the internet. With up to 85% of buyer's searching for properties online it is my goal to provide easy access to Maui real estate information to the world. In addition to the internet, with my years on Maui I have a strong working relationship with other Realtors I have developed over the years.

I have won many awards for Top Producer and have been a strong presence in the Maui Community. I have worked with the homesless shelter and have been involved with Habitat for Humanities. I have for the last 25 years been involved with the local church community which has been a source of strength in my life. I also am a experience waterman having been surfing all my life and in the last few years adding windsurfing and stand up surfing to round out my life.  You need to find balance in life and that helps me to bring a wholeness to what ever you are doing in  life.

One of my past client and friend is Laird Hamilton and Gabrielle Reece. Laird wanted to be able to look at Jaws from his porch to check the surf.  This is his spot which he tows into massive waves behind a jet ski on a small board. After looking, it was through local connections that I was able to find 10 acres to build his dream home on Maui's north shore.
