Paula's Story
IF YOU WANT TO LEARN A LITTLE ABOUT ME...
I have been told that I am supposed to write a profile like someone else is writing it, but I have never been very good at formality. So, please bear with me as I share a little about myself.
This may seem like an odd thing to say when I am supposed to be touting my business accomplishments, but of all of the accomplishments in my life, I am most proud of my family. I was fortunate to meet the man I was meant to be with in the mid-1970's and we married in 1979. Soon after, we had three remarkable children who are now creating their own paths...two daughters who are also Realtors and live in Land Park and a son who is paving his own path in Long Beach, working towards becoming a film producer. The icing on the cake is that I am now also having a great time being a proud grandma!
I find much of my joy being involved in my Land Park and real estate communities. While my children were in Crocker/Riverside Elementary School, California Middle School and C.K. McClatchy High School, I enjoyed being involved in their PTA's (even being President more than once), coaching and being on the board of the Land Park Soccer Club for 19 years (it takes that long with 3 children) and being on the Land Park Community Association for the past 2 years.
I have been so fortunate to meet a lot of very dedicated and wonderful people in the Sacramento Association of Realtors. I began my involvement in 1997 by moderating weekly regional meetings and then went on to chair that committee. In 2007, I joined the Grievance Committee, (which hears complaints filed by other Realtors and the public) and then chaired it. I have now been able to progress to Professional Standards, which hears complaints sent forward by the Grievance Committee. In 2009, I was thrilled to be elected to the 2010 Board of Directors for the Sacramento Association of Realtors and in 2012 I am serving as it's Secretary/Treasurer. I am also an Outstanding Life Member of the Sacramento Association of Realtors Masters Club.
On a personal note, I am a native Sacramentan raised in South Land Park. I attended Sutterville Elementary School, Sam Brannan Middle School and C.K. McClatchy High School. I received my A.A. from Sacramento City College and my B.S. from Oregon State University.
My career path has taken me from being a buyer for a local department store (Lawrence's) for 9 years to being manager of a family owned ski rack business (Mohn Ski Racks) for another 9 years. I was asked to temporarily help at Dunnigan, Realtors (now a family business) when a secretary became ill in the late 1980's. I never left. I achieved both my licensee and broker's license in 1995 and am now the Broker of Record for the Land Park office.
My fun in life is spoiling my grandchildren and my 2 unruly English Springer Spaniels. Art (which was my college major) has always been a wonderful distraction for me. I ignored it for much of the past 30 years, but resurrected my interest of late. I find great joy in creating bronze sculptures of creatures, both domestic and wild. Penguins, meerkats, dogs and cats seem to dominate my interest, but there are always the rogue panthers, flamingos, polar bears and so much more!
So that is about it! Talking about me is never a comfortable thing...thank you for putting up with my ramblings!

Paula is fortunate to live and work in the area in which she specializes - Land Park. She also 
specializes in the older neighborhoods of East Sacramento and Curtis Park. Paula is drawn to the character and the unique architecture of each home. The tree-canopied neighborhoods feature beautiful parks. Growing up in South Land Park, she also has experience in selling homes in this wonderful established neighborhood.
