How Did We Get Here?
After 20 years of production work in the television industry with the local CBS affiliate, I felt the need to be more creative in my day-to-day existence. And so, I turned to the things that gave me opportunities to use my creative talents. Now, I work for myself as a fulltime photographer, graphic designer, actor & performer. In this Real Estate Photography endeavour, I am most fortunate to be in partnership with my husband Jim, who has been a Producer/Director at the aforementioned television station for 39 years. Fortunate because he is a gifted photographer with an eye for ... and here I quote him, "taking photographs and not just pictures". Both of us are enjoying his retirement and fulltime commitment to SITE SHOTS!
What We Bring To The Table:
With 50 plus years of experience between us in photography...wait a minute, didn't we work in video all those years? Yes, but for many television camera operators the passion to shoot pictures doesn't end in the studio. Framing a shot so that it appeals to the eye is something that is either there or it is developed over the years. In a studio setting, doing the same show over and over challenges the camera operator and the director to make it look fresh and new, or maybe to even look at it from another angle. Jim and I feel that we bring that to our photography. Our shots are not boring or standard. Additionally, when we design a brochure for a house that we photograph we try to incorporate some of those same ideas into the layout. Often we submit a design to the Realtor who then has the option to change or make additions to it as they require. Check out some of our clients' brochures at (http://siteshots.biz/brochures.html) When working on commercials for television we found that catching the eye of the consumer was first and foremost, then the information should be easy to see and quickly absorbed. We incorporate that into our brochures by making them colorful with plenty of photos and putting pertinent information right next to or on the photograph to which it belongs. This makes our brochures unique and interesting which in turn makes the home featured, memorable.
