My career in title, escrow, trust and exchange services began in 1983 in the trust department of a nationally recognized title company. Over the last 25 years I have worked in all facets of the Title and Escrow Industry. During those years, I managed the Builder Services Department, Trust Department and Exchange Services Departments as well as having worked in escrow and account servicing.
Prior to the issuance of the long awaited regulations on 1031 tax deferred exchanges by the IRS in 1991, I provided Starker Trust services through my capacity as a Trust Officer. In 1993, I embarked on soliciting additional exchange business within the Real Estate community of Tucson. I developed a clientele of Investors, CPA's,
Attorneys, Escrow Officers, Real Estate Brokers and Agents who have relied on my expertise and experience to assist them through all facets of their exchanges. I have successfully facilitated thousands of exchanges and have clients all over the United States.
As the Qualified Intermediary, I process the required documents and forms, to assist in satisfying the Internal Revenue Service's regulations as well as ensuring that all funds on deposit are safeguarded and earning the highest possible rate of return. As a member of the trade organization, The Federation of Exchange Accomodators, Inc. (FEA) I have attained the designation as a Certified Exchange Specialist®. The program is available only to FEA members who meet specific work experience criteria and pass an exam on exchange laws and procedures.
In an ongoing effort to provide education and information to everyone involved in Real Estate Investments, each month I provide instruction as an approved Real Estate Instructor. The continuing education which is provided is approved by the Arizona Department of Real Estate and provides professionals with licensing renewal credit hours under the "Legal Issues" category. In addition to Real Estate professionals, Investors, CPA's, Attorney's as well as Enrolled Agents have attended the 3 hour class and find it a beneficial way to increase their knowledge on the subject.
