Selling or buying a home isn’t a singular decision, it is a process that includes emotional highs and lows along the way. Selecting the right REALTOR® to assist you is critical, and is the reason AJ takes a consultative approach with each client, taking the time to ask questions about their goals/needs/wants. This strategic approach takes the resulting mosaic of individual answers and compiles them together to better map out a successful purchase or sale of your home, with the most efficient use of your time and energy. Whether you are a cautious first home buyer, are exploring a short sale, or a seller that is downsizing from your “forever” home; his enthusiasm, dedication, and supportive style will let you know you have a true partner in achieving your goal.
Quality over Quantity
“Quality over Quantity” perfectly encapsulates AJ’s real estate philosophy. His goal is to exceed the expectations of every client--each client deserves individual attention at every step throughout the process, rather than an automated mass production approach that has become prevalent today. There should be a special bond between client and agent, and as your agent, AJ will fill many roles along the way to a successful settlement. Among these roles are sounding board, moral support, coach and many others. He actively works to cultivate a unique relationship of openness and honesty so you feel completely comfortable and therefore, can achieve the smoothest and least stressful transaction possible.
Now in his second decade as a full time agent in the Northern Virginia market, his area of exclusive focus, he has been around the block (literally & figuratively). Knowing the areas that will fill the specific needs of a buyer or the long term market trends of a seller’s neighborhood are invaluable assets that AJ brings to the table every time. His long term perspective, focused negotiation skills, contract knowledge, and integrity are all brought to bear in every purchase or sale.
AJ lives in Alexandria with his wife Jodee (also a licensed REALTOR®), son, and rescue dog Shadow. When not out with clients he can be found on one of the city’s athletic fields with his son, a dog park, or entertaining friends at home. He is also involved in the community through the PTA at Polk Elementary School, as well as delivering meals through the Meals on Wheels program to seniors in Alexandria.
I believe that selecting an agent to assist with your real estate needs is an incredibly important, though often overlooked, step in the real estate process. You should feel comfortable dealing with and spending time with your agent, as the process generally takes longer than just a few years ago. If a personality/style clash impedes communication, both you and your agent will become very frustrated. Be honest with what you want in an agent and expect the same from the agent you select, as they will act in many roles such as a counselor, friend, and sounding board throughout the process. My wife and I concentrate on trying to understand what our clients really want and need before we start viewing homes or planning an open house, as the investment at the beginning of the process will pay off handsomely in the end with a successful, stress-free transaction.
