I have inspected over 3500 homes in Humboldt county since 2002. My inpections are very thorough. The report is in easy to understand 'coverstional'` language with plenty of detail and photographs where applicable. The final product of the inspection is the written report and the comments about issues noted are the most important part. The report also contains customized preventative, performance and energy savings tips to help you get the most out of your new home.
I believe a report comment should:
1) Identify/describe the defect/issue
2) Warn of the risks/consequences the defect/issue poses
3) Recommend type of action to take
Some other inspectors report comments just inform you of a condition (e.g. no safety glass) without letting you know what the danger is or a recommendation. I feel it is my obligation to my client to give them as much information as I can.
My reports also include links to a page on my website or another website for further information where applicable. I have created many pages on my website just for this purpose. I am constantly adding pages and updating pages when needed. The pages are also there for anyone to reference at any time.
My rates are also very reasonable, especially considering the level of detail and the amount of work I put into every inspection and report.
You may find a cheaper inspection, but you won't find a better one!
