I started out working in a buyer agency firm in Charlotte only 10 years ago and quickly developed what at the time was the wildly UNPOPULAR niche of working with INVESTOR clients. I found that if I served my client base well (and I did) I could keep them indefinitely and earn a good living servicing their real estate needs.
Times have changed and nowadays, everyone is an investor expert. It seems funny to look back and see just how far ahead of the curve I actually was.
I think my biggest fault is I never treat a first meeting as a "presentation". By the time someone is referred to me it's all about finding out what they need and getting it done. As a result, several years ago I started my own investment real estate company since sales managers all hated me for not wanting to work "company leads" and share my "how I did it" at the weekly sales meetings! Ahhhh, the good ole days.....NOT!!!
