Eyespy Home Inspections is not a franchise, but family owned and operated. I am driven and being the owner I feel this allows me to give the customer more personal attention.
I have been involved in home renovations for over thirty years. I have owned and operated my own Home Improvement business for the past seven years: http://www.honey-do-list.ca/ (which I have now closed down) and http://burlingtonon.homemove.biz/hdl-home-improvements/ to serve you better as a full time inspector.
I have had the privilege of working with many trades, Master plumbers, Master Electricians, roofers, carpenters and have benefited immensely from their mentoring. I have over the years in my many home improvements observed many, many defects in workmanship and finish. My first hand knowledge in defects undoubtedly helps in the Home Inspection field.
I decided in 2008 to pursue home inspections full time and began my studies and writing all the exams to get all the necessary qualifications in order to serve you, the customer better.
Education is ongoing as a Home Inspector with constant upgrading/exams and yearly association exams. I have recently enrolled in CertainTeed sustainable building programs in my constant effort to upgrade my skills. 2011 I studied and passed my IAC2 indoor air quality certificate for mold inspection. In 2012 I passed my IAC2 radon course as well as another 60 hours of CE credits.
I am now infrared certified (thermography) and offer the service to my customers. In fall 2013 I met the requirements and was accepted as Board Certified Master Home Inspector (CMI)
When licensing is brought into effect in the province I will comply with whatever it takes to become a licensed home inspector.
In late 2011 another home inspector and myself founded a new home inspector association in Ontario (ontarioachi.ca) so in startup I am the treasurer on that BOD. We have become the largest association in Ontario. We have been awarded the CCHI designation for Ontario, first recognised as acceptable for licensing in Alberta. I have achieved the CCHI designation by meeting or exceeding all of the mandatory requirements recommended for proposed licensing in Ontario.
I feel confident that you will have made the right choice when you choose Eyespy Home Inspections!

"I recently hired Scott to perform an inspection on a 50-year old home. Scott was punctual, highly personable, very professional, knowledgeable and thorough. Scott took the time to walk me through all the findings and provided a well-balanced perspective regarding the relevance and significance of each of these. An easy to understand, detailed report with photographs highlighting findings was provided with a fast turn around time following the inspection completion. I have no hesitation in recommending Scott at Eyespy Home Inspections to colleagues who require the services of an expert home inspector."

We were tremendously pleased with the service provided by Scott at Eyespy Home Inspections. He was professional and prompt, but most importantly, he did a very thorough home inspection for us. Scott took the time to sit with us to explain every detail. We were able to negotiate a new house price as a result of his finding several "surprises". It was very helpful to have his report on line, with pictures, as I have since saved it on my computer and reference it often. I would strongly recommend his services.
Scott did a great job on two home inspections for us recently when my wife and I were looking to buy a century home in the Grey Highlands and Fergus. On both occasions Scott did a thorough job of highlighting all the potential issues with both properties and was very knowledgeable about many aspects of century home construction found in these older homes. Friendly and easy to get along with, Scott provided balanced observations of each property which were well documented in a clear report, which allowed us to make an informed decision in each case. Having purchased homes in Europe and the US, this is our first purchase in Canada, Scott’s knowledge of Canadian home building was invaluable, we would gladly recommend his services to friends and family.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Scott on several renovation projects, as well as the inspection of my current home. Each time, Scott took the time to consider both safety and specs, and offered honest solutions for each issue he encountered in his inspection. He is professional, reliable, and an all-round great guy to work with. I would highly recommend Scott and his company to anyone looking for a real meticulous inspection of a property.

“I am pleased to provide a reference for Scott at Eyespy Home Inspections. Scott is very professional, personable and dependable. He was extremely thorough and clearly is very experienced by the level of detail he was able to provide on all of my many and varied questions. I only wish that I could use Scott’s services for renovations and upkeep before the one-year conflict of interest time frame is up!"
