Much of my business comes from referrals and repeat business, both in and outside what I would originally have called my market area (Lexington, MA). Prior to Buyer Agency taking hold in eastern Massachusetts, this wasn't always an easy thing to do since representing a SELLER while actually working with a BUYER who was referred to you always struck me as walking a tightrope.

BUYER Agency was the most liberating change in the real estate world that has happened since I was licensed in 1986. Like many new ideas, it took longer to get a foot hold in Massachusetts, but I knew it was the way to go for me as soon as I started doing reading on it. The office where I worked in at the time didn't really understand the process and was worried about liability --I was more worried about liability as a seller's agent working with a buyer!

I kept on asking and eventually - in 1997 - I got permission to "try a transaction as a BUYER's Agent". I felt like I had come home! Actually working with my client as a team was the way it should be and I've never looked back. I then got the ABR Designation and have only worked with buyers who were interested in representation. My team is equally committed to the support and service of our BUYER Clients.

When representing the SELLER by listing a property, we have the procedures in place to avoid dual agency. Our strength as a team is that we each bring something to the table, and it has tremendouly enhanced our service. Our Marketing Plan [everything from staging, through on-line market presence, to client service and support] includes every aspect of the home selling process. We are not afraid to roll up our sleeves and help you prepare for market!

I believe you are better able to service your client -- whether buyer or seller -- if you are regularly maintaining your experience as both a listing and selling agent.
