I grew up in a home where my father was always in one form of real estate or another and so got my first taste of the profession from him though I never thought of going into Real Estate myself. My first profession out of college was as a computer programmer. Then I became a full time Mom to my eight children and returned to programming after my youngest was in school. When the company I worked for started outsourcing, I was layed off - it was time for a career change. By that time my husband had gotten involved with managing some residential real estate properties for a business associate. They had me doing the scouting for properties and decided I may as well get my Real Estate license so that we could save on the commissions. That was the start of my real estate career and I've been hooked on it ever since.
I've lived in Rockland County for most of my married life and love it. It's a great place to raise a family and provides the best of all worlds. It's close enough to New York City so that we can enjoy all that the city has to offer, yet we have the advantage of living where we can still get up in the morning and hear the birds and smell the roses, look out of our windows and watch the deer, and walk down a street where our neighbors are not strangers.
