I have been practicing real estate law for over 20 years. I started in General Practice and have dealt with many of the areas of law which affect real estate transactions. In addition to the several offices in which I worked as a Settlement Attorney or Manager, I have owned my own title company and law practice and have been Underwriting Counsel for a national title insurance company. These experiences not only equip me with the tools to make transactions run smoothly, but also to clear complex title issues to the satisfaction of the title insurance underwriters.
I have been very active in the structuring and financing of commercial and residential real estate transactions, and have developed expertise in handling complex issues such as foreclosure, bankruptcy, distress transactions, delayed settlement transactions, poor credit financing, and advising clients with regard to state and federal regulations in financing.
I believe that the best way to serve my clients, is not only to provide a seemless closing process, but to be available to assist them in any way. To that end, I am always available to answer questions with regard to your transaction. Often I am called by agents in the middle of contract negotiations with questions about how to put a certain term in a contract. I will assist in wording contracts or addenda or in structuring a loan. If it is after office hours, my cell phone always rings.
As Chair of the Education Committee for the Maryland Land Title Association, I have organized and taught at many educational events. I am available to teach for your office, as well. My philosophy is that if I can educate real estate agents and loan officers, then they, too, will be able to better serve their customers.
