I think this is a setup question.  I don't have one specifically but a good IDX feature should be your #1. 

Right now my current company is having hassles keeping my IDX searches from stopping & I'm tired of all the nonsense already.

I have no idea how good their technical specs for SEO are or if they even do real estate websites at all but http://www.slavisaristic.com/ definitely got my vote for excellent marketing. I came across them from a blog post found in social media so I didn't see the home page first. The landing page was cool enough but the home page? They are masters of pattern interrupt while still remaining completely on market message and relevance! Seriously take a minute to check it out and think about how absolutely boring and UNcompelling so many real estate websites are by contrast.
