Depends if they were leggings, (not the best way to represent yourself), however, they are some very nice yoga pants that look like slacks.  We see them here in Santa Barbara worn by many women including myself.  If it was my open house, I would wear a dress or dress slacks.  A

I have seen agents show up in daisy duke short shorts, high spike hooker heels and boobs hanging out. How much trouble would it be to dress like you are running a business?

Probably none since they are so common here.

I live in California -- I have seen nearly every kind of attire at open house events and elsewhere.   

I would say: "now bend down 1-2-3-4...now touch the sky 1-2-3-4".

Nothing.  I'd ignore it.  We're there to check out the house, not the agent.  If she isn't professional enough to dress the part, that's her issue.

I would introduce myself, and talk about the home.

I am not that concerned with what people wear, just what they say and do.

She is not a professional.  I recently interviewed an agent for my brokerage who showed up in jeans and a shirt showing a lot of clevage.  I did not hire her.

There are agents in my area that wear those regularly. I prefer them to the torn-look jeans they also wear. For me, never would I do either.

I would ignore said Yoga Pants.

I would not react but go through the open house.  Some people never dress up and that might be their "normal" attire.  There are many types of agents ... but I'm more interested in the house.

Not sure what answer you are looking for.  You got a few.

Did she pair it with gym shoes or barefoot?  I'd ask if she was going to a yoga class thereafter.  This only adds to a negative light on the professionalism of agents.  

I guess, it depends on the location. I would not be surprised to much to see that here in L.A. since every one does yoga and you can connect better to younger buyers who all wear some kind of tight pants:) 

I wear black tight pants, white top and a some kind of jacket most of the time and I always get complements for my style. 

Get into a Downward Dog position right away or do a Sun Salutation with her?

Hopefully her knowledge of the home and ability to answer questions thoroughly would outweigh her attire.

I don't think wearing yoga pants is presenting yourself as professional... casual professional is okay, but this is a bit much.

Depends on the area, and so many other things. The fact that you recognized them as yoga pants probably tells me that it shouldn't have happened.

As a buyer who was there for the open house, I'd ask about the sales price and if the seller had any offers.

These days (no offense to anyone) but that is just regualr wear i see every day. Most have a shirt over so that it covers up, however some dont. If the top was apropriate than fine. As with any clothes, they should be appropriate in wear, fit and taste.

it's not proper to wear to an open house....one can be casual and that would be "business casual".... no need to be uncomfortable....your presence is important, not to everyone, but to most.... 

Same reaction as when I see them at the mall, restaurants, movie theaters, etc.

It would depend on the yoga pants, if they are black/neutral color and she is wearing a dressy top or jacket with them it would be fine.

.....unless the body was clearly not suited for such apparel....

then I would be checking out that outdoor kitchen and my gesture rich conversation may be overheard through the sliders.

I could tell you what happened when I brought my clients to an open house where the agent was wearing daisy dukes. My clients didn't believe she was the agent.

I would know they are not very professional.   Last weekend I was showing lots of homes, and many agents were very casually dressed.  Some you could not tell who was the agent.

Depends on what type of top she had on. Many people in our area wear yoga pants / leggings everywhere.  Some outfits look nice, others well.. they should not wear them. I wouldn't wear them at open house. 

As with most real estate questions, I'll play it safe and say, "It depends." :0)

It would seem to me that she's trying to get through the open house to get on with things she really cares about.  What's the point of going to work if you're not going to work?  In real estate, presentation is a part of the work.

I'm not sure I'd even notice unless they were those wild colored ones I see around town lately.  I know I wouldn't be wearing yoga pants to anything to do with business unless of course I was teaching a yoga class.

I would love it. If this is how my 'competition' is dressing, it is Blue Skies ahead for me!
