Can't say that was true for me or, at the end of the day, with any broker. What influenced me was:

1. Two decades as a financial officer/executive in Fortune 500 companies, where I learned to negotiate, manage people, run a business, etc.
2. The very poor example set by agents I'd had personal experience with... that's what drove me to the business and I knew to be successful I just needed to do the opposite.

Real Talk, and the Real Town Network. So many smart people. I paid attention to everything that they said. My broker was good locally,, but these others were and are great at real estate in the big wide world.

My first broker who, instead of answering my questions, always said, "What does the contract say?" and forced me to look for the answer myself and understand that the answers truly ARE in the contract!  We would then discuss but not until I found it and read it.  Yes, in front of him. LOL

Yes and even more so in a family business when it was my mother. It was not easy or fun, she was harder on me than any of out 30 plus agents as i was an example. She had me complete every task there is in real estate. Back them it was driving to a town hall to get a tax map. It was driving to a client to get a signature. It was pre qualifying by hand and in person. It made me aware of and experienced in every part from building to inspection, to appraisals to writing a mortgage. It was beat into me that service is everything. That clients are for life and take care of them at all cost. Treat others like you want to be treated and remember who step on climbing the ladder to success as you will see them again on the way down

While that person/broker/managed was "influential" my real education is so much mote than one influence, one person, one experience, etc.

Not my first broker, but my second one.  First was at remax before we became our own company.

My Realtor, she was so bad I got into the business, and have been rock n rolling $$$

Other than my mother, I do not attribute the 'influential star' to any one other person...for me, I listen and learn from as many as possible! 

Actually, mine was my lawyer. Sound legal advice is a must in real estate.

He was not a Broker but he was that and more. A 72 year old retired pharmacist multi-millionaire took me on for 12 years teaching me the ropes

While my first broker was a mentor, not sure she was the most influential in my career.

That is not true with me, and I haven't had one person that was most influential - lots of people have provided insights that have been helpful.

Regardless of whether they were good or bad they were influential.

My 2nd and then 2nd to last are tied although their influence ran in completely different paths.

That's true for me, but it's also true that I've never changed brokers.  

It is not true for me ... and it is why I left the brokerage after 6 months. 

Most influencial ... my inner guidance to not follow the sheaple.  Like Nina Hollander I brought a wealth of education and experience to the table. Most of the so-called influenciers were a joke to me.

my first big builder was the most influential.... I paid attention and made myself visible everyday to communicate and watch the process of building a home.... I was inspired to get my builder's license and had is vor 20 years.... that allowed me to close as many builders as I could handle and capture the marketplace during my time in real estate.... 

now I just hit the keyboard!

It was not my first broker.  It was other successful agents that took the time to allow me to learn from them.

The most? No.  Significant?  Sure.  The rest is a lovely combination of my professional experience before getting into real estate coupled with loads of experiences that shaped my career and many many fine and not so fine examples along the way who added to the molding of me.  ;0

I would say the same and not just because he was the first but because he was very good at what he does and how! But my 16 years in the corporate role has played a big role, too! Maybe bigger

Influential, yes but, the most, no. That falls on my father, my own personal & work experiences and my amazing husband!

It is indeed. He was the perfect business person to learn good business practices and how to take excellent care of each and every client. Put them first always.

My first broker was never there after I when with him.

a lot of influence yes.  The most though my parents ... who raised me to be honest and have a great work ethic.

My first broker taught me about contracts, but my 2nd broker gave me lots more to actually succeed in this career.

First broker...yes! I had a great mentor/teacher which is what I was looking for as a newbie.
