Meet Roger

POSITIVE THINKING

Roger DiPiano has never been the type of guy to sit back and wait for things to happen.  He's someone who sets his sights high and isn't afraid to give everything he has to achieve goals.

Roger views life as a world of endless opportunity.  Yet he also believes strongly in doing things the right way, which perhaps stems from his Greater Boston upbringing.  "If you enjoy what you do, then it's worth doing...and it's worth doing it right - with a firm commitment".

Roger says. "If I am going to live in a place as vibrant and beautiful as New England, I an going enjoy every moment."

From theater, to dancing to walks along the beach to sailing to his passion for the game of golf, Roger enjoys getting the most out of New England living. In his opinion, it's "the Good Life - the only way to live."

POSITIVE INSPIRATION

His philosophy reflects the inspiration of two important mentors in his life. First, was his high school football coach, who taught him the importance of setting personal goals and pushing himself as far as possible to achieve them.  It's what made him excel as a quarterback, planning a strategy to move the ball down the field, and it's what drives him today as a leading businessman.

Roger's second mentor came in from a leading New York businesswoman. Roger had already proven successful in the real estate industry, as owner of Wedgewood Development Corporation, his own real estate development and investment firm operating in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Greater Boston area.  But an opportunity arose-one that could not be passed up-to move to Central Connecticut to become a regional vice president of sales for a leading consulting and development company and later COO of enherent Corp.

Working alongside "My Business Sister", as he affectionately calls her, instilled in Roger the importance of trust, integrity and confidence, encouraging him to be the best he can be day after day and continue to grow year after year.

HIGHER STANDARDS INNOVATION

Roger tells about his drive to make the most of every opportunity and commitment to "making the right choices".  My success in real estate in large measure comes from my unwavering commitment to providing you the best service in the county."

In the twenty-five years Roger has been involved with real estate he has experienced many shifts from buyer to seller market cycles and back again.  Most importantly, he appreciates the equity in the family s' home can represent a major portion of their overall assets; for the average American family estimated as between 27-47.

"For me real estate means more than selling and buying houses. It is about the people I meet and assist.  They are making choices about investments, decisions of where to live, and lifestyle strategies that are consistent with their stages in life.  What can possibly be better than that?"

Roger believes positive energy gets positive results.  He   understands Selling and Buying Real Estate can be an intimidating experience.  Instead, he focuses on his motto...'together we make great things happen'.

"Today the bar for real estate professionals has been raised.   When it is time to realize the equity in a home Sellers' require a ‘Marketing' agent who is committed to proactively completing the sale.  Buyers want a "Consultant" agent to collaborate them with their buying decisions in person or on line.

POSITIVE INNOVATION

"Bottom line is it is all about service.  Those that provide the best Customer Service win.  The Internet is an integral tool for our Marketing and Customer Service standards."

When asked why the Internet is so important to his strategy, he says: "Whether Agents are will to accept it or not, the Internet has changed the dynamics of Real Estate industry.  Internet buyers are well educated consumers and having performed a lot of research on their own.  They are well informed about available homes and the value of features offered by active listings.  Consequently, they act more quickly and need someone who can move at their pace".

When marketing a property for sale, Roger believes in employing a two pronged strategy.  "Certainly we concentrate on exposing your home to agents in the local market.  Since those agents are working with pre-qualified buyers, it is extremely important they know about your home.  This is an extremely focused portion of our marketing campaign.  Equally important is the exposure we provide over the Internet to all networked agents and individuals who show interest in our community. "

POSITIVE CONNECTION

Beyond his ability to leverage his personal relationships and contacts within the real estate community from Greater Boston ~ Central Connecticut~ New York, more than anyone, Roger understands how to leverage the Internet to provide maximum exposure while featuring your home for sale and for servicing potential buyers.

Roger appreciates the power of innovation.  As a Premiere Level IBM Business Partner, he instructs leading businesses, like FerrariUSA, how to harness Web-based technologies and maximize Internet syndication.

SERVICE AFTER THE SALE INNOVATION

Have you ever asked your Realtor what services they provide you after the sale that will help retain you as a client for life?   Roger's thinking is reflects his positive values.

"Real Estate is all about people and their unique values.  After all, as they say:  ‘Home is where the heart is'... and community is something we share.   The character, culture, and amenities of our neighborhoods uniquely distinguish our New England communities.  I believe it is important to pitch in, give back and help preserve these qualities".

Experience

A TRUE VETERAN

Roger is a true Veteran, whether referring to his military service or in his 25 years real estate experience.

After receiving a football scholarship at Northeastern University, Roger served in the armed forces, commenced his career as a technology consultant in 1975, and joined real estate the real estate profession in 1982.  Throughout these experiences, he graduated from schooling to the business world by providing service excellence based on results.

In the twenty-five years Roger has been involved with real estate he has experienced many shifts from buyer to seller market cycles and back again.   He is steadfast is his approach and his advice about real estate and financial stability.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

We have all heard it said Practice makes perfect, but what distinguishes a professional?  The distinguishing characteristics are based on the consistency in results.  An amateur practices something over and over so they learn to do it right -   Professional practices until they cannot do it wrong.

Even after all these years, Roger practices every day.  BUT what he practices is what he preaches in real estate matters.  "It's one thing to read and study, but quite another if you live it.  Like my Sellers and Buyers, I have been in their situation - many times over - and I see the circumstances from their eyes".

As a result, Roger's success as a real estate professional has comes in large measure from a relentless commitment to provide you with the finest real estate services in the country.

KNOWLEDGE FROM THE GROUND UP

In 1985, Roger wanted more from his experience in real estate.  He started his own company, Wedgewood Development Corporation, operating in Cambridge, Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area.

Under his privately owned company, Roger attended to all aspects of his real estate requirements: land acquisition, variances, New Construction, Renovations, historic preservation. He provided his own Architecture, operated as General Contractor, and personally marketed his residences.  As a result, he has personally owned over 200 residences and intimately understands both your selling and buying circumstances.

By focusing on quality of his product, he not only weathered the down turn of the late 1980's.  He sold every property he produced for its maximum value.  When other developers failed, after foreclosure, the Banks familiar with his work ethic engaged Roger to restructure the failed projects.

"I generally enjoy working the residential home market because I take pleasure in the personal contact I have with either the present or future occupants.  In the home market in enjoy the warmth expressed in the dwelling after staging it."

Roger thoroughly enjoys working with his customers.  "For me real estate means more than selling and buying houses. It is about the people I meet and assist.  They are making choices about investments, decisions of where to live, and lifestyle strategies that are consistent with their stages in life.  What can possibly be better than that?"  Please see: Testimonials

"I especially like helping homeowners whose listing has expired without a sale on the open market the first time around.  I really enjoy re-staging the home for sale and getting the right job done for them".

Every once in a while, however, a unique opportunity occurs.  When Ellington Ridge County Club wanted to renovate their clubhouse, they called Roger.  "I really didn't think I was going to get involved beyond a general review of their plans - I agreed to do that review as a favor".

What Roger found was architectural specifications and contractor estimates for a project in the amount of $5.5 million dollars.  "I knew at the outset that was way over the top - overkill for their stated objectives".  To meet their requirements, Roger restructured the plans and revised the estimates to $1.6 million.  Roger saw that project through to completion as the ‘Owners Agent', completing construction during the 4 months the premises were closed during winter.  He opened the club for Easter breakfast in time for the The Connecitcut Tournament Players Club (TPC) qualifying round with $3,800 remaining from the construction budget.

"Ellington Ridge was a different commercial experience for me.  It had unique qualities where we were really able to highlight the warmth of this building used for social gatherings and lots of fun on the links.  The more difficult project I faced there was my managing my scorecard when playing the course.

When the newly formed Connecticut Real Estate Investor's Association (CTREIA) launched their organization, they were seeking a place to hold their meeting.  Roger arranged for them to use his corporate facilities as the sponsoring host and quest speaker for their gatherings.  The membership expanded quickly and in six months out grew what Roger's facility was able to accommodate.

"That was a enjoyable experience for me, and the membership went from around twenty to over four hundred members, which was nice to see.  When I started out there was no such forum from which I could learn.  With all the opportunity in real estate, who teaches the woodsman their way in the woods?"  Today, Roger has taken the role of mentor for several aspiring investors.

Testimonials

"My home didn't sell when I listed it with another agent.  I was frustrated and suspicious, because I really wanted to sell.  From the moment I met Roger, I couldn't help but notice something different about him. When I shook his hand, I could almost feel his energy.  I told him the other agent told me my listing was called ‘expired'.  Roger said I should think of it as ex-expired.  He set out "staging" my home and coordinating repairs.  Within two weeks he re-listed it and it sold quickly that time.  Then, I started to panic because I didn't have a new home.  I went on to buy my new how with Roger - I call him my real estate psychologist and a friend" - A.S., West Hartford

"I had previously worked with an agent to find my home.  We needed a very large amount of living area to accommodate our family and by work out of the home.  I am tall and this other realtor was bringing me to houses where the ceilings were literally two inches over my head.  I had to tell her we needed ample space in all directions.  I stopped working with that agent and found Roger.  I never told him much about our needs other than the number of bedrooms.  In one week, I visited my first home with Roger and it was perfect.  There was no need to even look at the second showing he had scheduled.  He satisfied our needs with the ‘eye of the tiger' - T. Scott, Simsbury

Our home listing expired without a sale.  During the time it was on the market, my agent cautioned me that because it was a Contemporary style home it would take longer to sell than if it were a Colonial.  After it expired, I was approached by more agents than when was listed for sale.  I turned them all away, resigned to remain in my home because selling it was meant to be.  One day, Roger came to the door and asked if indeed I really wanted the home sold.  After thinking it over I determined I did and called Roger.  He prepared us and re-listed our property.  In eight days he provided us an offer and it was for more money than what I originally listed for.  I guess that first agent was wrong, really wrong" - Aaron, West Hartford

When we were ready to sell our home in Long Island and relocate to Connecticut, we contacted Roger.  It was in the middle of winter and things were quite hectic.  The weather was bad, it was close to the holidays, with kids and Mom with us we had seven of us staying in a hotel and viewing homes.  On the day we found our home, there was a blizzard you couldn't even see the street signs, but we were determined.  Roger showed us ten homes, but we weren't committed to any of them.  At the end of the day, Roger convinced us to see just one more.  Needless to say, that was the one for us.  His focus and determination really stands out". - Steve and Ronnie, Avon

"I had searched for a Realtor for a long while because I am a Korean and I had some unique buying issues.  Finally, I happened to call Roger's West Hartford office.  When the answering agent and I first spoke, I tried my best English to ask for someone who was sensitive and aware of my issues.  In a few minutes, Roger picked up the line and we discussed my situation.  After a few minutes, I then realized he was speaking to me in Korean - perfect Korean.  To say the least I was both surprised and satisfied from that moment throughout to my purchase" - Seon, West Hartford

"I continue to give Roger ‘Mission Impossible' needs in my home purchases.  I do not know exactly how he does it, but I am always astonished with the results.  Although I have many clients and friends who are realtors, I wouldn't consider switching because he really cares about what is important to me and protects my interests. Along the way, we have become close friends" - Karen, West Hartford

"From the outset, we knew we would be challenged to find a buyer for our home, because although beautiful it was one of a kind unique and situated on a steep incline.  Roger located that buyer interested in the features offer by our home.  From the beginning we knew we were working with an expert as he attended to getting the home ready.  I would classify our satisfaction by saying he provided us with state-of-art techniques with high quality, old school service".  - Matt and Andrea, Manchester and Niantic

"We worked with Roger during the hey-day of the recent sellers market to buy our home.  It was a crazy time, when homes were gone hours after they were listed.  Roger would take us out during the day while other buyers were at work. Not only did he find our dream home, he negotiated with the seller to get the price where we needed it to be.  It was a wonderful experience" - Kim and Dan, West Hartford

"Roger not only sold our home, he sold it twice.  Although Roger secured a buyer for our home within one month, because of the inspection report, the first buyer backed-out.  After addressing the inspection issues, which weren't really issues at all, Roger brought us the second offer that was higher than the first". - Connie and Tom, Columbia and Newington

We both sold and bought my homes using Roger advice and guidance.  The speed in which he sold my home was amazing.  Although we found a home offered for sale by owner, Roger never stopped assisting us.  I will definitely call Roger when it's time for my next move, without a doubt.  - Brian and Kathy, Wethersfield

"I both sold and bought my homes with Roger and his staff.  Beyond being our realtor, he became part of our family.  He advised us on how to prepare our home for sale and that really paid off in terms of speed and sale price.  He was very sensitive to my wish list items for my new home.  Together we found all that I hoped for". - Jume, East Hampton

"We relocated from California and we were not familiar with Connecticut at all.  Roger was wonderful teaching us about the communities north, south, east, and west of Hartford.  Together we visited all neighboring towns to see homes and learned about the amenities they offered.  With his negotiating skills, we were amazed about what we could afford in a home. We decided to locate near our new workplace.  In another year, our family will have grown and we will downsize, we already contacted Roger to alert him...he is always close by and available". - David and Rannie, Windsor

"I have to admit it was a little intimidating thinking about selling and buying at the same time.  Roger explained how he was going to address the requirements of selling my home and he kept me focused on the search for my new home.  He didn't want me distracted to the point I would make a mistake in my new purchase.  He kept alerting me the features I had told him I wanted.  Just like he promised, it all worked out seamlessly". - Anna, Newington

"Roger was able to simultaneously challenge our ideas and lead us along new avenues with pragmatic and effective actions.  Our satisfaction was never in question". - President, Ellington Ridge Country Club
