Timmothy's cartoon today is a good springboard for one of my biggest pet peeves, littering. In my NOT so humble opinion people who litter are the most narcissistic, lazy, and stupidest people on Earth (now you know exactly how I feel about that). The only humans that are more narcissistic, lazier, and stupider than the average litterbug is the smokers who flip there butts our where ever they are (in the car, walking in the park, or in my front yard).Remember Ladybird Johnson's clean up America campaign? I wasn't all that keen on it back then but these days I'd like to see a revival of that campaign along with heavy fines against littering. However, maybe this time they could use a real native American as opposed to the white guy imitating one.

Last week, the largest report was the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book, leading into chairman of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell speaking on the current state of the economy and the stance of the Federal Reserve. While the Beige Book has indicated some positive movement towards a strong economy, there have been many indicators from all inflation data that inflation has yet to be tamed to the standards of the Federal Reserve. This was punctuated by Jerome Powell, as he discussed at length the Federal Reserve has yet to feel inflation is under control. This has dispelled all notion there will be a rate cut in the future and likewise a strong reaction from lending partners and markets across the economy.Beige BookThe U.S. economy grew slightly faster in the early spring and businesses added m...

Hey Earth, you rock!I am sure we have all notices changes from our youth regarding the climate around the world, in our neighborhood.  It is there if you just look.  ANDIt all makes sense in the big picture there are things we do as humans that affect the word we live in. I am not a radical by any stroke of imagination, but I can't ignore the fact that there are things that we do that in the long run are not good for me or the place I am vey fortunate to live.  Pick up my trash and dispose of it in the proper place.  Turn off the lights when I leave a room, close the frig door when I grab something from inside.  It is the small things that really do matter over time.  This is why it’s important to clean up our act - and the planet.Whether it’s reading a book instead of binge watching a ...

From my previous life, one of my colleagues, Anthony Iannarino,  posted 10 reasons about having fun as salespeople. Today is Earth Day - and what better way to celebrate than by making a commitment to start buying local vegetables in season.  That can begin with a trip next weekend to a local farmer's market.  Montgomery County, Maryland, is home to several excellent farmers markets offering fresh produce, artisanal goods, and a vibrant community atmosphere. (Good news - The Bethesda Women's Coop is open on Wednesdays, so you don't even have to wait until the weekend to begin eating healthy food.) Here are some of the best farmers markets in Montgomery County:Bethesda Central Farm Market: Location: Bethesda Elementary School (7600 Arlington Rd, Bethesda, MD) Schedule: Sundays, 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM (Year-round) Highlights: This market features a wide variety of 100 local vendors offering fresh produce, m...

Motivational Monday…Exercise For Your Heart Many of us know of the importance of daily exercise…for our hearts and for our minds.   We run, walk, and swim.  Some of you play tennis and pickleball or take long bike rides.  We take the same use it or lose it approach with our minds. Not only do we work daily crossword puzzles but if you have a smartphone, there are dozens and dozens of apps to keep our dendrites firing.  Besides exercising and healthy eating, something else works wonders in keeping our hearts healthy. Studies have shown that helping others, volunteering and general acts of kindness are “linked to lower levels of interleukin 6, a marker of inflammation.” More and more, we understand the role that inflammation plays in Alzheimer's as well as other diseases. So even if you’r...

Being in Real Estate I get my share of items to donate, items leftover after estate sales, folks buying homes turnkey and not wanting items, flippers wanting the home empty and sometimes just decluttering a home to list for sale.  I try to spread things around to different charities plus I know who will take which items.  One I am connected to more than others that is Ye Olde Thrift Shoppe in Lady Lake.  The reason, my sister volunteers there and reminds me often they are always looking for donations.Ye Olde Thrift Shoppe benefits The Villages Hospital and has done an outstanding job doing so.  Recently they demoed an older building and built a new, bigger and better store.  The store is the hospital’s largest source of funding generating $351,199 in 2020-21 that increased the next year...

What Is A Backup Offer?     On Long Island, a backup offer is an agreement made between a buyer and a seller, where the buyer agrees to purchase the property if the current sales contract falls through for any reason. Essentially, it is a Plan B for the seller in case the current deal does not work out. Here are some key points to understand about Backup Offers: Backup offers are made when the seller has already had an acceptable offer from a buyer but wants to have a backup plan in case the current deal falls through. The backup offer is a legally binding agreement, and the buyer and seller must agree to its terms, just like any other contract. If the current sale contract falls through for any reason, the seller has the option to accept the backup offer instead of putting the propert...

This week the median list price for Chandler, AZ is $614,900 with the market action index hovering around 55. This is an increase over last month's market action index of 49. Inventory has decreased to 307.   Home sales continue to outstrip supply and the Market Action Index has been moving higher for several weeks. This is a Seller’s market so watch for upward pricing pressure in the near future if the trend continues.  The market is hovering around this plateau. Look for a persistent change in the Market Action Index before we see prices deviate from these levels.    YOUR   Latest activity in the VALLEY of the SUNFor ALL your Valley AZ Real Estate NeedsPHONE   Bill   at   602-999-0952Text         Bill   at    602-999-0952Email      Bill    at     billAZElite@cox.net Read other YVP Blo...

Are you easily distracted? Are you nostalgic or whimsical?   Do you hate the idea of throwing anything out?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are likely not going to be of great help when and if you need to declutter your home.My personal rules for keeping something are simple:1.  Am I ever going to use it again?2.  Does it still bring me joy or have a cost value?3.  Does it have emotional value? If not, OUT IT GOES!
