Are you a Republican or Are you a Democrat?  If you ask many Americans what the differences are of the two major political parties in the United States,  many say one or the other not because they actually feel that way themselves, but perhaps because of what they have heard on social media or through news outlets.   Many are for a particular party because of their families Many because of unions, or institutions of higher learning.   Many don't like a particular candidate, and vote purely on that basis.   Many don't vote at all.... and many just go along with the crowd, their friends, or whatever but they never really tried to understand the key differences of the ideologies of both of these political parties.  For the purposes of this blog post, I don’t care if you are a Democrat or a...

After being gone for nine days it’s great to be back home.  There is no place like The Villages, Florida and happy to be back at work.  Did get an extra three days away due to three flight cancellation but main thing is home now!Got some questions when I was gone and tried to answer them but wanted to share some topics that come up often.  Lenders, many of you are coming here without a relationship with a lender, shop around and get a couple different rates.  My lender guy Ronda (she’s not a guy) is my go to, she is a mortgage broker and has a long list of lenders she uses.Insurance, forget what you have read about Florida insurance when it comes to The Villages.  Yes, if you want a million-dollar mansion on the beach that has been struck by hurricanes year after year you will pay but i...

Where Are the Referrals? When asked why members joined ActiveRain or what they hoped to get out of the platform, REFERRALS is often at the top of the list.  Some members have suggested when they leave a comment that we send referrals to them.  So where are they? Why haven’t you been sent any referrals? Well, you see, it doesn’t work that way. Think about it…in your own IRL  town, if you were asked for a referral to a vendor, would you offer the name of a company you didn’t know anything about?  Probably not. It’s your word and your reputation on the line.  You need to know whoever you refer will provide the type of service or quality of goods that you would want and expect.  ActiveRain is a community and while the platform exists in Cyberville, we respond and interact with each other jus...

Petty things that drive me crazy in MLS lI apologize in advance, I try to be as positive as can be, but I need to get this off my chest. This post has been inspired by my distaste for LAZY AND SLOPPY. Here is the list:1. No room sizes. Is it that difficult to bring a tape measure to your listing appointment? They cost like $10.2. No description. Every house has something nice about it, and if not, it has a purpose.3. No front of the house pic In my opinion, this is the most important pic. My immediate thought is-- this house must look like hell. 4. One photo. That's right, one. Burn a few calories, walk around the house, and snap away if you are not getting professional photography.5. The wrong subdivision name. Not the end of the world, but if you don't know it, click on None. Nothing ...
