We humans are well trained when it comes to doing what our dogs want.  Well, kind of and kind of not.  But - boy oh boy these guys are good at making it well known just exactly what they want  - treats of course! That got me to thinking about one of my favorite quotes......... What you think about and what you get always matches!                                                                              Esther Hicks Recently I've been working  on keeping my head on straight! And that is no joke!  About 3 weeks ago I went to new dentist and OMG I had no idea of what could go wrong. For a simple cleaning and Xrays the gal had me in that dentist chair for over 2 hours.  Think about it, 2 hours of laying kind of upside down in weird position.  I had no idea of how bad that would effect my...

WHAT YOUR AGENT SHOULD PROVIDE YOU WHEN YOU HIRE THEM Selling your house is a big step that requires a ton of work on your side. This is why hiring a real estate agent is essential: They will handle everything to ensure you'll sell your house at the best value possible. The problem is that many agents are not skilled enough, break their clients' trust, and don't meet their expectations and achieve their goals. Let's dive into what your agent should provide you so you'll know if the trust you gave them will be worth it.  The Value Of OLD CARBefore you hire an agent, they owe you something. The agent should treat you fairly and honestly. It doesn’t mean that if you’re not hiring them, they will treat you entirely differently from a client.Once you hire them, you should expect them to becom...

Hey there, house hunters! Let's talk about this week's housing market report and see where we're at.Last weekend, while I was busy showing homes around 12:15, something remarkable caught my eye. An open house slated for 1:00 in Ashburn, VA had already drawn a crowd of 30 eager house-hunters. Despite some wild weather, the turnout was impressive, leading to a staggering 15 offers on the property.Chatting with the realtor, we learned that the home, listed at around $150,000 above the listing price as the highest offer. It might sound intense, but here's the silver lining: I've noticed a growing inventory, especially in Northern Virginia's Fairfax County. More homes are hitting the market, offering hope to buyers. However, it's a different story in Montgomery and Loudoun counties. There, th...

What happened in the DC Metro area real estate market in February?  The number of closed sales dropped by a bit while the median sold price went up again.  The median days on the market is very small - just 10 days- but the good news is that the active listings are up by 7.2% across the DC metro area and the months of supply has increased.  The increase in Inventory was mostly due to a big surge in condo listings: 19.4% year over year and townhome listings up 0.4%.  Single family home inventory is still down - 2.5% from last year.    Interestingly though, the number of showings is also down by 8.4% from last year even though inventory has increased.  Perhaps it doesn't take as many showings to buy a condo!   Here is a peak at the DC metro area by county.  Some areas saw significant pric...

Going into 2023, there was a lot of talk about a possible recession that would cause the housing market to crash. Some in the media were even forecasting home prices would drop by as much as 10-20%—and that might have made you feel a bit unsure about buying a home. But here’s what actually happened: home prices went up more than usual. Brian D. Luke, Head of Commodities at S&P Dow Jones Indices, explains:“Looking back at the year, 2023 appears to have exceeded average annual home price gains over the past 35 years.”To put last year’s growth into context, the graph below uses data from Freddie Mac on how home prices have changed each year going back to 1980. The dotted line shows the long-term average for appreciation: The big takeaway? Home prices almost always go up. As an article from ...

How are you with prioritizing nutrition? For me, it is not the easiest. I love taking care of my body and always strive to be healthy.  But being a realtor demands a delicate balancing act between the demanding nature of the profession and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.  Juggling between property showings, client meetings, and paperwork often leaves little time for personal well-being, particularly when it comes to meals.  In the realm of real estate, where schedules can be unpredictable, finding time to prepare healthy meals amidst busy routines can feel tough.  Quick, easy recipes and meal prepping with things like this Healthy Costco Shopping List are what I rely on.  I also like to keep a stash of healthy snacks for moms in my purse for when I am out and about..  Efficiency become...

March unfolds with the vibrant spirit of Women’s History Month, a time dedicated to honoring the indelible contributions of women throughout history. It is a period of reflection, celebration, and inspiration, focusing on the achievements that have shattered ceilings, challenged societal norms, and paved the way for future generations. Amidst this celebration, our series begins with a tribute to Rosa Parks, a figure whose act of defiance became a pivotal moment in the civil rights movement, echoing the power of individual courage in the face of injustice. This narrative aims to not only recount her life’s story but also to explore the essence of her actions and their lasting impact on society, thereby continuing to inspire actions that uphold her legacy.Who Was Rosa Parks?Rosa Louise Mc...

Even with a mild winter like the one we are experiencing we start hoping for Spring around this time of year. Pets often help us make it through the winter as we see less humans during those really frigged days/weeks and months. But what our our furry friends thinking?I would bet that Timmothy's cartoon guinea pigs want spring so they can get out and eat some fresh grass. I'm sure my dog, Baby, wants to go on more walks then I am willing to take her on during the harsh winter. What do cats want... god only knows but maybe they want to get out and look for mice and small birds.I myself am looking forward to walking Baby and not having to wear 3 or 4 layers of clothing or boots that weigh 5 pounds each.
