Description
Steve Reese understands that real estate is a puzzle with pieces that have to be put together just right for the perfect transaction. Putting those pieces together is exactly what Steve does best.

Steve Reese puts all the pieces together

Steve Reese knows that real estate is all about putting together all of the different elements people are looking for to achieve the perfect transaction. Whether that means getting the right price, completing the sale in the right time frame or even helping find a property that has the best chance to be a good investment, Steve can help put it together. It's something he not only does very well but also has done for many people in the Shawnee area. Just look at what a few of his clients have to say . . .

"With Steve's advice and attention to our interests our house was "spoken for" in just two days."
Don and Karleen Osborn
Oklahoma Baptist University

"When faced with an unexpected transfer, we needed a quick sale. Steve delivered!"
John and Kay Sawyers
Central Plastics

"We closed on our new home in just three weeks. What more could you ever ask from an agent than that?"
Ray and Cindy Krcha
KKASE Recycling

Education ultimately benefits the consumer

e-PRO
Steve's intrinsic knowledge and comfort using technology is a primary piece of his business structure. The e-PRO certification course teaches professionals the nuts and bolts of working with real estate online: Web sites, e-mail, online tools and most of all, what today's consumer really wants. Real estate is a "me too" business. More than 90 percent of the work performed by residential real estate professionals is the same after obtaining the listing (place listing in the MLS, put up a "for sale" sign, put a lock box on the property, run classified ads and hold an open house). Technology is the one area agents can differentiate themselves from the competition.

GRI
At the very beginning of Steve's real estate career, he earned the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation. The GRI program consists of more than 90 hours of classroom instruction covering subjects like contract law, professional standards, sales and marketing, finance, technology and risk reduction. The GRI designation sets the individuals who have attained it apart from other practitioners because it indicates to the public that he has obtained a professional educational foundation on which to base the services he provides.

SRES
Steve wanted special training to meet the special needs of maturing Americans when selling, buying or relocating. The Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation course provided Steve the unique opportunity to learn and build key skills in counseling seniors through selling their family home, buying rental property or moving to a senior community, among many other issues. In addition to guiding clients to the right experts on tax laws, probate, estate planning and a variety of equity conversion strategies, Steve can offer clients relevant information on current trends in senior real estate transactions.

CHMS
Because competition is so high among home sellers, staging homes has become a necessary skill for real estate professionals to possess. Steve earned the Certified Home Marketing Specialist (CHMS) designation to help guide sellers toward positioning their properties to beat the competition.

AHWD
Steve's doors have always been open to all qualified buyers and sellers. The At Home With Diversity (AHWD) certification course delivered what is needed to handle transactions that involve minority buyers and sellers. With the growing minority power accounting for 40% of first-time homebuyers, expanding home ownership must be about opening new doors. We want to see new doors to minority citizens and immigrants who want to own their own homes. This diversity that Steve embraces is now considered to be one of the country's greatest assets.

ABR
Steve has completed all the coursework toward the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, and after completing the number of buyer-represented transaction requirement, will obtain the designation. Through the ABR courses, Steve has not only gained valuable real estate education that elevates his skills and knowledge in the eyes of homebuyers, he demonstrates to sellers that he is uniquely qualified to attract buyers and successfully close transactions.

CRS
The pinnacle of one's professional designations in the residential market is the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). Steve is working aggressively to earn this prestigious designation - held by only 4% of REALTORS® - as quickly as possible. To earn the CRS designation, every REALTOR® must have significant experience and demonstrate volume of real estate transactions or gross sales, as well as complete rigorous educational requirements.

In addition to earning professional designations, Steve is also certified by the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission to teach continuing education courses on technology.

A little bit of history

Steve spent a number of years working for the Oklahoma Association of REALTORS®, first in their newly created communications department as the association was looking to make innovative, across-the-board upgrades to their print and online communications. Under his creative management, the OAR Web site was awarded "Best of the Web" by the National Association's Executive magazine twice in four years. He transformed the association's electronic newsletters from a bi-monthly text-only version to a system of several monthly e-newsletters targeted to specific niches in the membership and a four-fold increase in circulation.

After several years at the association, he took the position of Director of Professional Development. Their education department consisted of only one program, the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI). He devised a new curriculum incorporating national speakers into its faculty of instructors that nearly tripled its enrollment and doubled its profits, becoming the association's second highest non-dues revenue source. The courses were taught live at the Oklahoma City headquarters and broadcast via Internet-based videoconferencing to a classroom in Tulsa. He expanded their designation courses into other specializations with resounding success. He also supervised the development of a multimedia online real estate licensing course. He's worked closely with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission and professional associations for real estate educators, such as the Real Estate Educators Association (REEA).

In 2008, he was appointed to a two-year term on the National Association of REALTORS® Professional Development Committee. In addition to that honor, he was selected to participate on a panel of three state association education directors in Washington, D.C., outlining the successes of their GRI program as a model to other associations around the country.
