The most important thing I considered when making the decision to pursue a career in real estate is the following question: Why become a Realtor? For me, the answer came easily and had nothing to do with "what's in it for me". I am a Realtor because I enjoy working with and helping people. To help someone achieve their real estate goals, whether it is a first-time home buyer or a "seasoned veteran" who has purchased and sold other homes, the satisfaction of helping them achieve their goal is a very gratifying and rewarding experience for me. I seek to build a relationship with my clients, not just for a particular transaction, but for life.
Areas of Expertise
I especially enjoy helping first-time home buyers. After working with my first such clients, I realized the importance of making sure these clients were armed with as much information as possible so they could make informed decisions. Taking the time to explain the various processes, forms, and related material provided them with some comfort and alleviated a lot of the anxiety they were feeling at what may be the largest purchase they ever make.
Marketing properties is another area I thoroughly enjoy. In the market we encountered over the past few years, it may have been enough to "stick a sign in the ground" (so to speak) to sell a home, but marketing properties is normally an essential part of the listing / selling process. From pre-listing advertising to brochures to the data entered into the MLS, the marketing of a home is critical to producing potential buyers. With this in mind, each home is unique and may require a different marketing approach in order to generate showings.
