A great experience and a new good friend
Ten years ago, when I came back to this country, I met one of my best friends who used to live in the Mount Washington area. My first exposure into that community was just amazing. I loved the landscape, the topography, the views, and the diversity in terms of incomes and razes. In fall 2003, just right after I graduated from my masters in Urban and Regional Planning and Architecture, I started thinking about buying a property. My preliminary ideas were not very clear and they were very limited in terms of budget. However, there was something that I knew for sure. I was looking for a property located in the inner city (Downtown Los Angeles) or really close to it.
When I started looking for a property, I had two ideas. My ideal one was to have a small house where I could develop my own design concepts and live with my mama, and the second alternative was a loft in Downtown that sounded more realistic and feasible. I was exploring both alternatives going into different house openings in the Mount Washington Area and visiting the new or recently improved buildings that were converted into condos in the LA Downtown area. During this exercise, I met Rene Kische.
Almost a year later after our first meeting in a very small hillside house in Mount Washington, my brother Alvaro and I were celebrating with Rene buying our first property in the same area. Although my brother and I were the decision makers in this process, it would not have been possible to accomplish our simple but at the same time very complicated project without Rene. When I said complicated is because our original idea of just buying a house evolved to become a fixer. With the fixer concept, we were planning to develop a much bigger house. I guess although I am the designer, my brother was the one with the vision, and as soon as Alvaro saw the property, he encouraged me to go for it. As a first time buyers, " RENE " not only acted as our real estate agent, but she provided us with a lot of guidance during the entire process and she had a very clear interpretation of our vision which she supported from the beginning....Do you ever get this kind of support from another real estate agent?
If I have to define today what was and is my relationship with Rene, it would be unfair to say that Rene is just my real estate agent. Rene goes the extra mile. Her level of professionalism, her real estate knowledge, her hungry personality to learn more and more when it comes to land development, her social skills, her progressive mind to understand that real estate goes further of just selling a recently remodeled Spanish Colonial house, but over all her human touch make Rene one of the most amazing human beings that I have ever met in my life. I cannot wait to continue nurturing our relationship with her. Rene is an achiever not only in the real estate field, but I do not hesitate to think that her driven and kind personality are going to make her very successful too in the land development and redevelopment fields.
Sincerely,
Henry Ramirez, B-Arch, MURP
